" Hello Alpha", he said and there it was again, my heart going haywire. I didn't need to look at my dad or Jake or Phillip to know that they were as shocked as I was back when Sam had first called me Alpha.

" Hi Sam, I just wanted to know how everything went and also let dad and Jake in on what we were up to during the meeting," I said trying the reign in my wayward heart. Sam acknowledging me as his Alpha must really mean more to me than I anticipated if my bodily reactions are anything to go by.

" Oh yes, everything went exactly how we wanted it to go. My friend Blake helped us in setting up a system where we can tap any calls made by anyone located in either of three packs. He hacked into the central network system or something. He also mentioned something about it not falling completely under the legal realm but I still gave him the go-ahead. I just thought that we can deal with the consequences later if we do end up getting caught. But since right now everything hangs by a thin rope and our entire plan will fall to pieces if the mole is successful in communicating our plans to Rico as I agreed to take the risk. As soon as anyone from either pack makes a phone call to a private number or any number registered outside the pack, the call will be monitored by Blake and Phillip and if they hear anything that might come off as suspicious they are going to disconnect the call which reminds me that Phillip you should leave for Blake's house as soon as possible as you have a better understanding of the situation and would be a better judge if anything does seem suspicious", explained Sam and I turned to Phillip and said, " Yes Phillip you should leave for Blake's house and get on top of this matter ASAP".

Phillip simply acquiesced to the fact and bid us farewell making a beeline for his friend's house.

" You both did really great. While we were all stuck in that meeting, none of us gave any heed to the fact that there was indeed a great possibility that the mole may be someone present in the meeting. If you both had not come up with this strategy, there was a huge chance that our initial plan would have ended even before it got started resulting in a large number of people getting injured, all because of our lack of foresightedness and also us getting too emotionally invested in the matter as that is what Rico expects of us. He wants to turn our children into our weaknesses and rid us of any logical thinking. You both make a great team, I don't know what all this fighting is for", my father said the last sentence with a hint of smugness as well amusement.

" Yeah right, thanks dad", I said mustering my best sarcastic smile to direct towards him in counter to his attempt to tease me yet again. Before my dad could embarrass me further, I continued" But now we need to think about the rest of our plan. I didn't want to discuss anything further in front of all those people so we need to do it now as it is me who has promised Lucas to bring his son back to him and I will do anything to fulfil my promise, even if it means that I will have to bear the anger of all those people for not trusting them enough"

" We can surely include Alpha Lucas in our planning but then he is not in the right frame of mind and therefore it may be too easy to manipulate him at the moment. So it's better if we give him some of the peace of mind instead of making him more anxious over this mole situation", Jake added and we all totally agreed to everything he said. Keeping Lucas out of this will only do him good as he had already gone through a lot in a very short period of time.

" I think Alpha Charles is also someone we can trust as there is simply no way he could betray his best friend and put Ramsey's life in jeopardy. He loves the kid too much to do anything to bring him any harm", Sam said and each word that he said in praise of Charles filled me more and more with a sense of dislike for the aforementioned Alpha.

" No, we can't trust him too as there is a possibility that he may also be subject to blackmail even though he may not have any ill intentions. In fact, seeing his closeness with Alpha Lucas, he could be the very first target for Rico", I said trying to not let my sudden dislike for Charles reflect in my tone or shadow my judgement.
