As Max was sitting in her Wednesday morning English class, she was feeling extremely nauseous. Maybe it was from her dinner the night before, or even the way they were analysing the sappy balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet. The point is, she felt like shit.

Max wasn't listening as the teacher told them to partner up to discuss their annotations. It took Mike tapping her shoulder, to bring her back to her surroundings. Mike and her were the only two party members in the class, in fact, the two of them shared most of their classes together. Max could've sworn it wasn't a coincidence. Of course, the two people who argue the most were forced to spend so much time together.

"Max. You ok? You look a bit pale." Mike asked her. Max just buried her head into her arms and groaned. "So, I'm guessing that's a no."

"No, sorry. I'm fine, I just-" But as soon as Max lifted her head and the brightness reached her eyes, she had this overwhelming urge to throw up. "I gotta go."

She tried to walk as quickly as she could out of the classroom, she didn't run because she wanted to avoid the attention of her teacher and classmates. But as soon as Max reached the hallway, she sprinted to the nearest bathroom. She only made it just in time to throw up into one of the toilets.

As she sat on the floor against the bathroom stall, feeling oh so glamorous, Max only felt a little bit better. She found this quite strange. Normally she felt immediately better after being sick, however, she still couldn't shake the nausea. Deciding she would be ok for the time being, she reluctantly walked back to her English classroom, where she was met with a very confused Mike.

"Are you ok? Did you just throw up?" He asked her as she sat back down.

She shrugged him off. "I'm fine, let's just get back to work."

"You sure?"

"Can it, Wheeler!" She snapped, feeling strangely hostile. Max let out another groan as she laced her head but into her arms. It was going to be a long day.

By their first break, Max still wasn't feeling any better. She dragged her feet to the party's table in the cafeteria, before slumping into the seat next to Lucas, laying her head on his shoulder.

"Rough morning?" Lucas said as he placed his hand on her leg under the table.

"You could say that again." She whined.

Mike decided to chip in.  "Did you know that she threw up during English this morning?"

Lucas shook his head. "What?"

"Don't worry. I'm sure it's just-" Max began, but suddenly the smell of Dustin's bologna sandwich made her nausea worsen. But this time, she couldn't even excuse herself before she ran to the bathroom. Once again, Max found herself in the same position as this morning, throwing up the non-existent contents of her stomach.

When she walked out of the bathroom she saw Lucas leaning against the opposite wall, arms crossed and looking at her. She gave him a guilty smile, but he just shook his head at her.

"That's it. I'm taking you to the Nurse's office." Lucas walked towards her.

"Really?" Max whined.

"Yes really. You're sick as a dog, Max! Steve is going to have to come pick you up." He began to head towards the Nurse's office.

"Ugh. Fine." She followed him.

Turns out Lucas did the right thing because as soon as Max got to the Nurse's office, she threw up again. Lucas called Steve, and when he got there, he helped Max carry her backpack to his car.
