~ Chapter 28 ~

"Angel baby, you can hear what I hear?"

"Yes Mommy, I see Daddy, he sings for me," she giggled.

"Can you talk to Daddy right now? Try baby okay?"

"Okay Mommy."

She was quiet. "He can't hear me Mommy, why not?"

"It's okay baby, we are in a special room, I know what to do."

They would be coming with my dinner soon. I positioned myself so I could see out the door maybe get a clue as to where I was.

Moments later the door knob rattled, I started thinking to him, Kaysen, Kaysen, Kaysen, we're good. The door didn't shut behind him. I noticed there was another door outside the first one and a man was holding it open for him to come in with my tray. The man was a vampire, but he was awakened. He smiled at me sightly and held the door open wide! I was confused but screamed to Kaysen with all my mind power. The door closed when the delivery was complete. Why was he holding the doors open and smiling at me? Why was an awakened vampire helping Demo? Did Kaysen hear me? Where are we?

I sat to meditate waiting for a vision to answer my questions. First I saw Kaysen, he stopped walking and cocked his head to the side, than he smiled and said, "I heard you Love! You are okay and two doors, a good vampire? I heard that, Love! It's working." Then my vision shifted, to a series of tunnels, walking out a door into the sunlight. I looked around and saw thick forest and a wild river, we were at a damn. The noise from the rushing water was almost deafening. I turned because I felt someone near me. It was a vampire, a different one. He was tall, slim with reddish brown hair, blue eyes and a kind soft face, he was awakened, "I am Steve, we are here to take down the family of Vampires that works with Demo still. They don't know we are not one of them. We know now that it is you they are holding Avery and we are going to help you. Kaysen will be coming for you soon. We have to keep the Volturi in the dark until he arrives."

The baby kicked me in the ribs at that moment and brought me back, 'Daddy is coming?'

'Yes Baby, he is,' I laughed and sat down to eat.

They came back to pick up the tray the doors open wide again, 'Kaysen the vampires can help us, we're at the rushing water in the forest, there's a damn and tunnels! Remember my dream before?' The doors closed.

A few minutes later someone opened the door again. It was Demo.

"Well, hello again my dear! Let me introduce myself formally this time, my name is Demonicus."

"I know who you are." The lump in my throat was as hard as a rock.

"Yes, well, you've been busy since the last time we met. You were lucky to get away last time, but you won't be so lucky this time. Fortunately for you, the baby is going to save your life this time.... for now."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I am going to take your baby and mold her into something better, mine. I am told she is very powerful and will be very influential. If you join us you can live, for her sake."

My anger flared, I wanted to kill him in that instant. "You will not take my baby, she will not be taken and neither will I," my words seethed from between my teeth.

"I'll take you both with me until she is ready to be delivered and then you are disposable." He was indifferent to my emotion and unthreatened.

"Ha, good luck with that. You are going down for good this time."

"We will see." He grabbed my arm and dragged me toward the door.

The vampire guarding the door stopped him. "If she steps outside this room she can call for help, we would have to move her again." He let go of my arm and left in a huff. My vampire friend just winked and closed the door. Steve was protecting me and keeping us here until Kaysen could come.
