'i can't wait to see you play today!' kat exclaimed over a plate of blueberry pancakes.

'no pressure.' gio muttered uneasily. it had always been his dream to become a professional footballer, but he still wasn't quite used to having been thrown into stardom so quickly.

'you're gonna do fine!' kat grinned at him, 'you always do.'

a couple of hours later, kat found herself crammed into the yellow wall, sandwiched between mats's wife cathy and rafaella, axel's wife. although there was a vip section at the signal iduna park, most of the wags preferred to watch the game from the yellow wall due to the spectacular atmosphere.

'i think you picked the right game to come,' rafaella commented, 'gio's in the starting lineup!'

'yay!' kat giggled. she still couldn't believe she was actually there, it was so surreal.

everything seemed to happen in a rush after that, and suddenly it was half time, with dortmund 1-0 up after a goal from erling.

'what's the bet gio scores in the second half?' cathy asked, 'i know he's keen to impress his girlfriend-to-be.'

kat blushed. the others giggled, secretly rejoicing at the fact that the canadian hadn't denied it.

'hopefully he will get a goal,' kat spoke, 'because they need another goal to win comfortably.' she added quickly, face flaming as the rest of the wags smirked.

the second half started up again, and gio came out in scintillating form.

'what did they give him at half time?!' rafaella exclaimed, eyes wide as she watched the nimble seventeen-year-old dancing through the opposition defence.

'i could do with some of that on laundry day.' kat muttered, grinning. her grin quickly turned to an expression of shock. then back to a grin. then a cross between embarrassment and happiness.

gio had beaten the entire defence, banged in a worldy and dedicated the celebration to her.

as she was caught up in a huge, yellow group hug and gio closed the pretend book he'd been reading as his celebration, kat's only thought was, could her day get better?
