'and that's why roast potatoes are the best thing you can make with potatoes.' gio finished passionately, his gaze confident, daring kat to disagree with him.
she did.
'i can't believe you still think that after my, quite frankly, irrefutable argument for french fries.'
'i mean fries are great but roast potatoes are elite, i mean they're like fries but crispier and you can have them with gravy.'
'well you've clearly never heard of poutine.'
'hey guys, can you please stop arguing about potato, the neighbours just came around to complain about the noise.' erin sighed. kat's family had gone home three days after kat's birthday, but gio had stayed for a week and the roommates were more than used to the nonsense that the two produced.
'maybe we should continue this debate elsewhere.' kat suggested, 'i know a place that does the best french fries.'
'why are you so quiet?' kat asked as they walked back through the park, 'has the poutine blown your mind as much as i said it would?'
'well yes.' he was quiet for a moment longer, 'i can't believe i have to leave tomorrow.' kat's heart fell down to her feet hearing his words.
'i should just move to germany,' kat muttered. 'i'm gonna miss you so much.'
'i wish you could.' gio responded, smiling weakly.
'maybe i'll come move there when i finish up college. only a year or two more.' kat was trying to be optimistic.
gio didn't respond, he only leaned down and kissed her. intensly.
'gotta make sure i compensate for all the time we're going to lose before i leave.' he muttered, wrapping his arms around her.
'please don't leave.' kat whispered.
[idk what i'm gonna do
when this is over😭]
