Perfect..
She thought to herself as she laid her eyes laid on his picture. He looked so handsome with warm brown eyes which suited his porcelain like skin and the depths of his deep chestnut brown hair reflected all the radiance of his smile. Sometimes, she would look at his picture for hours and the time would pass by like sand and tonight was one of those times. Gosh, she really loved him.
It was 11:30 PM and she still was wide awake by choice or by means, either of them was partially true because of these nightmares she'd had been having for about two weeks now. The sole reason was that her past was lingering behind her just like a dark shadow. They say that the the more anger towards the past we carry in our hearts, the lesser capable we are of loving in the present. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move away from those bitter memories.
She instantly shoved away the negative thoughts and focused on tomorrow's date, it was a big day for her and Kevin. She definitely didn't want to spoil it; immediately bringing the picture resting on her chest in front of her eyes to gaze straight into those deep eyes.
"Please no! You can't leave me like this!" She pleaded.
"Ofcourse I can, we're not handcuffed." His rudeness further widened the hole in her heart as tears filled her eyes.
"I know you won't do that to me Kevin." She managed to choke through tears.
"Watch me." And with these two simple words, he shattered her whole world. He banged the door so loudly after leaving that the sound of her heart cracking didn't even come to his notice.
Now, she sat in a corner of her room, the mascara had smudged down till her cheeks and her throat had gone sore due to excessive crying and screaming. She was still muttering 'I love you' now and then in the midst of her tears.
THUD!
A sound against her window scared her enough to make her realise that it was just the same bad dream she's been having every night since two weeks. Pushing away her quilt, she rushed towards the window and pushed away the curtain. Her jaw dropped at what she saw.
Down in her lawn was Kevin with the prettiest bouquet of roses with all shades of pink and red. Samara ever expected anything like this from him as he had never done anything like so in the past years. Her mind was now totally diverted from that nightmare towards the beautiful present in front of her eyes, him.
"Happy anniversary booboo!" Kevin was very creative at making nicknames for Samara. She opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. She was too shocked to say anything. What startled her more, the new cheesy nickname or Kevin's little surprise?
"I know you're too shocked to reply". He knew her way too well to understand all her reactions. She covered both her cheeks with her hands, realising that they were wet with tears now.
"Don't cry Sam, I'm still alive!" He winked crookedly.
"Really? Well, I'm glad to hear that." She replied sarcastically whilst sobbing. "Happy anniversary Kev. I love you."
"I know, I'm too adorable to be hated." He said as his eyes lit up and his teeth widened into a broad smile. The corners of his lips hooked her heart whenever they stretched out in a smile.
"I agree. Now, come on up Superman!"
"With pleasure", he started climbing up and in no time he was at the end of the pipe holding the edge of her window with one hand and the bouquet with the other.
"Give me a hand Samara, I'm not a real Superman!", he said as she held his hand and pulled him inside her room. Taking the bouquet from him, she placed it in the vase on the glass top table beside her bed.
"Why's your room always this messy?" he asked jokingly as he ran his eyes around the room.
"Because you don't live here, neat freak; and you know I'm the topsy-turvy types and you're the not-even-a-dust-particle-in-your-room-types-"
He pressed his lips on to hers before she could complete herself. She responded with much more passion and their lips were moving in unison now. His hands were holding her waist firmly while hers were locked in his hair. One of his hands moved from her waist towards the hips, sliding down on the thighs cupping her body in both his hands and lifting her up like a feather to lay her down on the bed. He covered her with the quilt and planted a kiss on her forehead before turning towards the window to leave.
"Don't go", she pleaded with a puppy face as she pulled the neck of his shirt towards herself. They both were breathing heavily as she could feel his warm breath against her cool lips. He kissed her lips. Once, twice, thrice; before saying, "I wish I could kiss you whole night and make you sleep in my arms. But, I have plans for tomorrow's date for which I'll have to make a leave", he said pinching my nose.
"Can't wait for it and can you please-"
"Ya ya I'll be quiet as a dead leaf whilst climbing down your balcony. Don't you worry and please sleep. Goodnight Sam." He cut her in the midst and kissed her lips for the last time before leaving. He never let her complete her sentences as he loved to kiss her while she was saying something. According to him, unplanned and unexpected things turned out to be the best.
"Bye Kev." She called after him as he left and drove back to sleep with her fingers crossed in a hope of not having another nightmare.
