"WHO CAN'T BE BEAT?"

Cara watched with an expression somewhere between a blank face and a grimace as Olaf and his troupe celebrated on stage. She wasn't at all surprised by the entrance of Olaf, it was only a matter of time before he showed up again and Prufrock seemed too perfect a place for him to show up; Cara was sure she and the Baudelaires were cursed or had some sort of smell that Olaf could pick up on from miles away.

And following this smell, he allowed himself to awaken the drama inside him and dress up as incredibly odd thing. A gym teacher was probably the most normal one they had seen so far...besides the fact he was on the back of the people in the Prufrock mascot and pretending to ride it with Carmelita stood cheering in front of him. Cara had never pitied a mascot as much as she did at the current moment.

The two old women were still stood beside the round thing Olaf had popped out of in red Prufrock Prep dresses and joining in on the cheering as the henchperson of indeterminate gender stood by the side, slightly behind Nero who was also cheering with his violin in hand.

It seemed like the chanting and cheering would go on until the grey sky behind them became pitch black. But it actually wasn't long until Olaf struggled to dismount the mascot to take his place at the centre of the stage and the rest of the students still chanting and cheering quieted down but Cara still felt the sick buzzing excitement all around her.

"I love the energy! I love it!" Olaf spoke in his fake southern accent and the students sat around the orphans stood and cheered in response whilst he chuckled and Cara rolled her dark eyes.

"Okay, everyone, settle down." Nero told the students and all of them sat down in their chairs with big smiles on their faces; Cara looked around and judged them all, making it obvious too as she eyed a few of them up and down before grimacing in disgust and looking away.

"Settle down?" Olaf turned to Vice Principal Nero, almost looking offended at the statement he had directed towards his students. "Do you hear what Vice Principal Shapiro just said?"

"Nero."

"Settle down." Olaf repeated and Cara rolled her eyes once more, almost like it was a second nature at this point, and looked on boredly as Olaf launched into his first inspirational speech. "How often I hear those words come out of peoples ears and into my mouth. 'Settle' a word which here means 'settling for less' and 'down' my personal least favourite direction...Let me tell you a story."

Cara blinked slowly, inching towards sleep.

"Some years ago, a woman came to me. She needed my help. Coach Genghis she said to me I'm a failure. I have no job. My love life is in the pits. I can't seem to lose these last 20 pounds. I bet that describes just about every one of you, right?" Olaf pointed generally along to the crowd of students who looked completely unimpressed by his comment.
