Chapter 25: Party

I'm such a seductress with my wine-red colored-backless A-line pleated gown.

My cleavage is visible in this princess scoop neckline. It's sleeveless with a vine-like straps that sprawled from my shoulder to my side boobs down to my lower back, the straps is covered with tiny diamonds making it more elegant.

The bodice of my dress down to the lower hip is appliqúe with romantic lace, tiny red roses and vines-like-thing-with a touch of black and silver glitters.

The skirt is also sprinkled with a silver and black sequins and has a raffle design at the bottom. My make-up is on point with bloody red lipstick. My hair is on a messy bun with some strands of curled hair with glitters-cascading on the side of my face.

I'm not bragging but I look like a gothic goddess.

Tonight is my party. I'd like it to be pool party nalang sana with my friend and my batch mates as my only guest, basta may alak sapat na, but my Dad wants it to be extravagant. Naghihimutok kasi ito, hindi daw kasi ako nakapag-pa-party noong mismong araw ng birthday ko. Tst. May gana pa ba akong mag-celebrate noon kung pati problema nagiging umagahan ko na? And celebration din ito dahil graduate na ako, akala daw niya noon imposibleng mangyari iyon dahil sa dami ng bad records ko sa school. Tsk.

"Ma'am baba na daw kayo. Malapit nang magumpisa ang party" tumango lang ako bilang sagot.

Pinasadahan ko ulit ang ayos ko bago bumaba.

Nagumpisa ang party with some formalities. Pinakilala ako, nag speech ng pasa-salamat sa mga dumalo, kahit hindi na nga sana sila pumunta. Sinasama sama ako ni Dad sa bawat table na pinapuntahan niya para pormal na ipakilala.

"How's the party, Mr. Tan?"

"Great!" tuwang tuwang saad niya at nakipag kamay sa tatay ko, bumaling sa'kin ang paningin niya.

"And who's this young lady beside you?" tanong ni Mr. Tan daw.

"This is Charity, my only daughter. Charity, this is Mr. Felix Tan-one of my business partners" Automatic agad ang peke kong ngiti. Inilahad ko ang kamay ko.

"You have a beautiful daughter, Channing. I'm sure my son would be glad to meet her"

Palihim akong ngumiwi, kaya ayoko nito, eh. Lagi nalang nilang inirereto sa'kin ang mga anak nila. Kesyo bagay daw kami. Matalino daw ang anak nila. Merging companies daw chu chu chu. Natawa lang si Dad sa tinuran niya.

Natapos ang awkward na sandali para sa'kin nang may mga business men na sumulpot at nakipag-kamustahan.

"I heard Tony's business is on backrupsy"

"Yeah. They launch a new model of cars last year but it was a waste, hindi nagustuhan ng masa. Ang laking lugi, balita ko malaki din ang inutang nila sa bangko para lang sa bagong model na iyon"

"Rigth, some of their investors pull out their share because of that misfortune. Kahit gustuhin man bumawi ng companya, they lack of financial support. Ayaw na silang pautangin ng bangko dahil may utang pa itong hindi nabayaran"
