Day 17 - Someone From Your Childhood

Dear L,

Oh my gosh, you are one of the most amazing people!

We first met at kindergarten orientation when we were four or five years old. We were both shy and refused to talk while our parents made friends. But it wasn’t long before we started playing together. Since then, our friendship has just grown and strengthened, despite only living in the same state for 18 months were we were five!

We have very similar personalities and also appearances; people still ask if we’re sisters!

You’ve been through a lot in your life with your family. I listened to all the news Mum was getting through your mum while we lived in Hong Kong, unable to do anything. I didn’t have a phone, email or any way I could contact you because we were both so young. And even if I could contact you, I would have no clue what to say! But you managed to pull through that difficult time, strong.

Because of how much we talk when we catch up, I feel like I personally know everyone in your life.

I wish we could go to the same school! Kindergarten was one of the best years of my life just because of the amazing friendships I made that would last a lifetime.

Can’t wait to see you in a couple of weeks!
