the next morning, i woke up, seeing the boys in the living room. mingyu was standing in front of the television with tousled hair and a coffee mug on his right hand. it was six and the air felt cold. "good morning," i greeted, rubbing my eye. "i almost forgot we have school today.""classes are cancelled." mingyu's voice stopped me for a moment. i turned to face him with a confused expression. "didn't you receive a message from your class representative? apparently there's a virus going around and we have to make sure it doesn't spread out. it's all over the news too. scary."
jihoon, who was seated on the couch, hid half of his face with a blanket and softly spoke, "d-do i have it?" jeonghan shook his head and assured the younger that he's fine. "don't worry, hoon. there's nothing to be worried about. it's not like it's highly contagious anyway—"
"the best thing to do at this point is to take care of yourself the way you would to prevent yourself from getting the flu, as this virus is highly contagious," the news reporter announced
"oh boy," jeonghan mumbled "guess i spoke too soon."
"it's fine, i doubt you have it," soonyoung told the boy. "we still have to be very careful though. i say we clean up the whole place today."
"but i'm too tired," jihoon whined. soonyoung reached for the boy's head to mess up his hair. "it's okay, the only thing you have to do is rest. that's all."
"aw is it too late to burn hyung in the backyard? lmao let's stop this from spreading," seungkwan joked.
"he's so pale, if you put him under the sunlight he'd burn in less than five seconds!" junhui laughed out loud. jihoon was not impressed. he leaned in and sneezed at both of the boys who were making fun of him. seungkwan, as dramatic as ever, hit a high note. soonyoung will definitely get that sweet sweet eviction notice soon if these boys don't stop being noisy during early and late hours. "this is fucking harassment! you're the reason why we're all gonna die here!" he shouted. jihoon only showed his tongue.
"please be quiet, i don't wanna live on the streets," said soonyoung, quite groggily.
mingyu raised his hand to bring all attention to him. (i can't believe it worked) "we need to put him in quarantine. yeah?"
"what the fuck i dont wanna be locked in a closet. i'll just go home," jihoon refused.
"i wonder when you'll come out of the closet though. i mean, seriously." junhui said. luckily, he made sure to move ten meters away from jihoon before he made that statement.
"no, you're not going home, jihoon. you might infect others on your way. let's not be careless here," jeonghan told him. everyone agreed. soonyoung then announced that he was gonna tell the boys to not come over because we have to be in isolation. jihoon stayed in the bedroom while all of us started to clean up. it's a good thing that soonyoung has an endless supply of masks in his house. he may have no deck of cards, but he definitely has face masks.
after a few hours, there was a loud knock. "i got it! i got it!" mingyu ran to the front door
"i want it, i got it!"
"shut the fuck up seungkwan."
mingyu fixed his face mask first before he turned the knob.
"WHAT THE FUCK!?"
the rest of us rushed to the door upon hearing mingyu scream. and there they were, seven boys in front of soonyoung's house, waiting to come inside. "if we're gonna get locked up, we wanna get locked up with you guys!" the youngest cheered. soonyoung almost lost his mind right then and there.
