the boys and i walked our way back from the mart. seungkwan, chan and junhui were busy talking to each other while wonwoo and i walked together in silence. it made me wonder if anyone of them noticed how beautiful the sky was today. the soft shades of blue stretched over us, with clouds piled on top of each other. soonyoung would have loved how it looked, for it was just the perfect weather for his plants.

it's not even a week yet and i'm already missing him badly. it's worse knowing that we're just in the same house and he feels so out of reach.

"you're back! please tell me you didn't forget the drinks i asked you to buy!" seokmin greeted us at the door. his expression brightened when i told him we have it. his smile was blinding, really. seokmin then helped me take the bags to the kitchen, where i told him that i could take care of it from there.

i opened the fridge and was surprised, seeing it filled with just cans of soda and some other food the boys had let go to waste. nothing else. i started to take everything out so i could organize the produce well, and as i was doing so, soonyoung entered the kitchen and stood next to me.

"it's okay, soonyoung, i got this," i told him as soon as i realized what he was trying to do.

the boy didn't say anything. he just started to organize by himself, but he did it in a way that was very different to what i had in mind. so i stopped him, and told him i'll do it instead.

"seriously, i'll do it," i said. "i'm always the one who does it."

just as i turned around, he said something i did not expect to hear.

"you're so annoying."

it was the first thing he said to me that day, since morning when he was too busy ignoring me.

"what?" i asked, quite shocked

"i'm sorry," he apologized, "but you keep insisting. you don't have to do it just because it's what you're used to doing."

"hey, just because we took a break, doesn't mean that you can treat me this way. that's not how it works. what's wrong with you?"

"maybe if you weren't so annoying, i wouldn't have said those words."

"oh so it's my fault? is that it?"

"ah shut up, don't be so dramatic," he retorted.

"don't talk to her like that." mingyu told him. i didn't realize that he's been here the whole time. the boy stood behind me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "soonyoung hyung, just go."

"great, whatever," the older mumbled and stormed off the room, bumping onto me as he left. i didn't know what to do. one moment he's so nice to me, next minute i'm nothing to him. his decisions pull in opposite directions and it's so confusing. either way, i know i haven't given up trying to figure him out.

i glanced upward at mingyu, and he had a worried expression on his face. placing his hand at the back of my head, he pulled me in for a hug.

"does he hate me?" i asked "i think it would have hurt less if we just broke up for real."
