The last words she expected to hear, "You're going to be a mom." She felt her heart drop to the pit in her stomach. Not that she wasn't happy, she was just embarrassed that it had happened.

Her and Rhys hadn't been very safe when it came to their little rendezvous, instead that was the farthest thing from their minds when in the moment. She was afraid to look up at Jack, let alone Rhys. The father of her child.

"I'm guessing that isn't great news?" The doctor cocked his head.

That made her look up rather quick, "No, I mean-yes! It's incredible news." She tried to smile but failed to do so with Jack in the same room.

"Mom?" Rhys spoke up, "You're going to be a mom?"

She knew he was shocked, but he sounded happy. No, happy was an understatement. A smile found it's way across his face, causing Aspyn to finally do the same. In that few seconds she had forgot her father was right there.

"We're going to be parents, Rhys!" She giggled, leaning over to wrap an arm around him.

"This is great! I'm going to get to do cool dad stuff! I can grow a mustache!"

"A mustache?" She smirked, "I don't think you'd look to bad."

A cough stopped the moment, causing Aspyn to turn and look at Jack. He seemed uncomfortable.

"Dad?"

"Hm?"

"Are you okay, dad?" She placed a hand on his arm. This was the most affection she'd shown him in a longtime.

"I'm okay, cupcake." He smiled, "Just-Wow."

His mood started to change a tad, he smiled ever-so-slightly. His line of sight went straight to Rhys, "Can I talk to you?"

'Oh, shit.' Was the only thing on her mind as the two got up, stepping into the hall. She couldn't think of what he may say to him. When the door shut, she stood up and stepped towards the door way to attempt to listen in.

She couldn't hear anything but didn't go out of her way to hear either. On the other side, there was the two men who were currently exchanging glares.

"Sir?" Rhys mumbled, trying to decide if Jack was angry or happy. He thought that only a few moments ago he was fine, now here he is.

"How did this happen?" He asked, "Couldn't you use some kind of protection. Hell, Hyperion literally MAKES contraceptives."

"We do?"

Jack pinches the bridge of his nose, ignoring anything that leaves Rhys' mouth, "Rhys, she is about to be running one of the largest companies in the universe and you knock her up?" His words were pouring out of his mouth now, "Don't get me wrong. I'm going to be the best damn grandpa in the world, but this? History is just going to repeat itself here."

"I-I'm sorry, Jack." Rhys sighed, "But I love her, she's not going to do this alone. Clearly."

"Damn straight," Jack said, "Go in there and talk to the mother of your child right now though. I'll catch up later."

With that, Jack leaves. He makes his way down the corridor, while Rhys walks back into the room.

"Aspyn," When she looks up, there is Rhys is the door. His smile was still plastered on his face, so the talk wasn't entirely awful. She was still smiling too, but not nearly as much. Aspyn was terrified, she'd never really had a mother figure, nor a proper father figure. The closest she got was Moxxi, who she know feels somehow betrayed her. "Let's go, sweetheart."

"What did he have to say?" She asked, grabbing his hand.

Rhys looked down at her, then caressed her hand, "Don't worry about it right now, we can worry about that later."
