❛CHAPTER FORTY ONE
the death of the headmaster❜

˙·✧──·✦·──✧·˙

PERCY LET his hand hit the wood of the front door of the Burrow, almost completely repaired, Aliyah was clinging to his shirt, her chest rising and falling as she slept. The male could hear shuffling on the inside as someone came to the door, and when it finally opened, Molly Weasley gasped in surprise at the sight in front of her.

Percy stood there, eyes red and puffy from crying, blood staining his exposed skin and clothes, a little baby girl wrapped in his arms. It was something the older woman had never imagined seeing. Even though she knew of the betrayal the boy made, in this moment, she knew it wasn't by choice.

"Oh, Percy." Molly said, then walked up and pulled him into a hug. The boy finally let go, as the tears started to fall from his eyes. "Come in, come in."

The boy walked into the house, and immediately he cowered in slight fear as he held the little close, as almost immediately, Bill Weasley had his wand pointed at him.

"Bill, stop!" Molly immediately yelled, taking a step in front of Percy as she grabbed her eldest sons attention.

"But mom, he's a traitor!" Bill defended, not lowering his wand.

Arthur grabbed his sons shoulder, and looked at his wife. "What's going on, Molly? Why is he here?"

Arthur didn't come off as hostile like Bill, but more demanding as to know why the boy was welcomed into his home by his wife. That's when he noticed the state he was in, and the little bundle in his arms. Bill seemed to notice as well, because he lowered his wand and took a step back, suddenly beginning to get a sick feeling in his gut.

"I-im sorry, its just... I didn't know where else to go." Percy said, his voice cracking as he looked at the ground.

"Come on and sit down, Percy, then you can explain." Arthur said, leading the male to the couch in the living room.

Percy sat down and began explaining everything. From the moment he joined Voldemort, to the events that just occurred. Bill ended up leaving the room when he his best friend was dead, and Molly had taken Aliyah when she had woken up from her sleep. Percy was glad no one else was home but those three, 'cause he knew he wouldn't be able to face anyone else.

"I was hoping, until this is all over, Aliyah could stay with you?" Percy asked, earning the two older redhead's attention. "I, I don't think she should be around me until this is over, I'm pretty sure they're all on to my doubt."

"Me and Fleur can take her." Bill said, catching the three's attention. "We've been staying on the low, so she'll be safe with us. Plus, I owe Cillian to watch after her."

"Thank you, Bill." Percy said, forcing a smile on his face, a smile they could all see through. Bill nodded his head at him, before suddenly an owl came flying through one of the open windows. It landed on the table, a sheet of parchment tied to its leg.

Arthur took a hold of it, and when he did, the owl quickly took off. The older male opened it up, before his face paled at the words written on it.

"Dad, what's wrong?" Bill asked, his concern clear.

Arthur opened his mouth but hesitated. "Its about Dumbledore, he's... He's dead."

Percy looked at him as his eyes widened at the sudden noise. The shock was evident on all there faces, and one question ran through their heads.

What were they going to do now?
