❛CHAPTER FIFTY TWO
devil in disguise❜

     PERCY HATED war.

He hated the destruction that came from it, and the unneeded spilt blood of innocents. War was a meaningless thing in his opinion, he believed nothing came out of it in the end. What exactly do people see to accomplish with war? Gaining power, wealth and what many believe to be freedom on the otherside. But are those things really worth it in the end, after blood was spilt and destruction happened? He didn't think they were.

Even for freedom, he believed blood shouldn't be spilt for such a thing.

Sitting on one of the rafters below a window inside Hogwarts, hidden out of sight, these thoughts couldn't help but fill his head as he stared out upon the graying sky outside. It made everything look so dreadful and dark, but he supposed the weather did fit the moods of many and the horrible things taking place out there, and even within the confines of a the magical school he resided in at the moment.

The reason why Percy was in the school- (the school overrun with Death Eaters who very much knew now that he was no longer on their side after the incident at Malfoy Manor)- was because he had caught wind that one of the last horcruxes that needed to be destroyed was hidden here. He was hoping he'd be able to find it, to help the Golden Trio with their quest, and solidify himself trustworthy in the minds of them and anyone else on their side.

He knows he broke so many people's trust after he joined the Death Eaters, and it was one of the biggest regrets he had. He joined in a moment of weakness, a moment that should have never occurred but did. If he could change the past he'd love to, but at the same time not, mainly because he knew he couldn't change it, it happened and he can't change it.

Suddenly the sounds of marching approaching caught his attention. His head whipped to the side away from the window, where the sun was now beginning it's set over the horizon. He stood up on the ledge, pushing himself more into the little space between the wall and the glass, hidden in the shadows and out of people's sight. He wouldn't be spotted here, not unless people were intentionally trying to look for him.

He peered past the wall just enough to watch as Gryffindor students, dressed in their robes, marched behind some Death Eaters, heading in the direction of the Great Hall. This made Percy curious, it was already past dinner, so why were these students heading back to the Great Hall?
