The girls found their seats on the plane. They settled down in their seats and waited for the flight to end.
***
"When do we get off this awful plane?" Rachel grumbled for the millionth time.
"How many times do I actually need to tell you?" Gemma shot back for the millionth time.
"I did not ask you," Rachel glared at Gemma. AGAIN.
Gemma glared back. AGAIN.
"Then why did you ask that stupid question again?!" Gemma hissed as the passengers all shot dirty looks at her.
"Well, who asked you to answer my 'stupid question'?" Rachel hissed back.
Gemma was about to say something back to Rachel when Emma cut in.
"Will you two cut it out?! Everyone is looking at us!" Emma hissed at Gemma and Rachel."If I knew you'd fight like this, I would have rather have come with Laura and Tammy."
"Excuse me, but WHAT!!!" Rachel shouted.
"For ONCE," Gemma said, eyeing Rachel carefully, "I agree with her."
"For ONCE," Rachel said, watching Gemma, "she is right."
All the other passengers stared at them out of narrowed eyes.
Emma sighed.
"And don't you sigh, Emma," Gemma hissed. "I'll be keeping an eye on you, and Rachel too. Don't you think I'll ever forgive what you said to me."
"Well..." Rachel looked at Gemma straight in the eyes."I won't either. But... what did I even say?!"
After a while, the three girls fell asleep and when they woke up, they were just in time to leave.
"Let's go," Emma said, "and when we've finished the
tunnel thing, we never fought."
Noticeably, they all walked slower as they went through the tunnel.
The three decided to have lunch at the airport before they looked for their friend. As Gemma put it, there was no point in going with empty stomachs."Where should we eat?" asked Rachel, looking at all the different restaurants.
"How about that western restaurant!" suggested Gemma, pointing.
"It looks expensive," Emma protested. "What about that Chinese cuisine one?"
"Why don't we just go to McDonald's," said Rachel.
After a long time of debating, they finally agreed on McDonald's.***
"We should have ordered more fries," Emma stared sadly at the fifty empty packets of French fries.
"Cheer up," Rachel said. "We can get a takeaway for Joy."
"I want some too," Gemma complained. "Come on, come on, get some for us too..."
"Oh please," Rachel said, exasperated. She finished her burger. "Let's go," she said, standing up.
Gemma brushed the sticky apple pie crumbs off her clothes and wiped at a sundae stain. Emma stuffed the last of her fries into her already overfilled mouth and stood.
"Race you!" Gemma shouted, dashing off to the exit.
"Wait!" Emma and Rachel cried and ran, legs outstretched."Ayr, 375 Haquin Street," Emma breathed.
"We've found it," Gemma whispered.
"Finally," said Rachel.
"Are you ready?" asked Gemma, glancing at the other two girls.
"I am," said Rachel determinedly.
"I am too," echoed Emma, steeling herself.
Rachel took a deep breath. "Let's go."
The three strode into Mayrs' and Squares'.
