"Helloo, miss, how can eye help yoo?" asked the shopkeeper.
"Well, I was looking for a special hat," said Xana in her most professional-sounding voice. "I have been looking for it in every hat shop in France and America, but it is not there. I was wondering if it could be here."
"And wot sort of hat ees dat, miss?" The shopkeeper was excited at this important-sounding client.
"It is a midnight blue hat made of the most silky material in the whole world, but is NOT silk, and it is embroidered with real roses that never die. Also, it needs to have the embroidered word 'royalty', but it cannot attract any attention," announced Xana confidently.
The shopkeeper looked startled. "Okayy, eye will try mah best to find yer speshall-looking hat dat yoo arr looking for." He bustled away.
Xana sighed in relief.
She checked that the shopkeeper was really gone, and opened the door.
Gemma and Rachel came striding in, both looking around the familiar shop.
"Well, good job!" Rachel said.
Xana shrugged. "It was easy," she explained. "I had to do this all the time when I was Countess."
"Do what? Lead shopkeepers away?" said Gemma, confused.
"No, of course not!" Xana groaned.
"Well, do what, then?" asked Gemma.
"I meant, tell shopkeepers to find something in a professional voice!" sighed Xana, rolling her eyes.
"Oh," mumbled Gemma.
"Well, are we going or not?!" interrupted Rachel. "He will be back soon!"
Gemma and Xana realized she was right.
"Sorry," apologized Gemma.
"Let's go, then," Rachel said.
Xana nodded.
Rachel ducked under the counter, and Gemma was about to do the same, when a voice said, "Eye have got yer hat!"
Gemma's eyes grew wide with panic.
"Duck under the counter!" hissed Xana.
