"Now you've done it. Now you've blown our one chance of getting help," Xana said.
She glared at the others, as if daring them to contradict her, and they did not.
"We're sorry, but we had no idea what you were doing!" shouted Rachel sarcastically.
Xana and Rachel glared at each other. Xana's was not quite a glare, more like an ice-calm disdainful look. Rachel's was a full-fledged glare, as true and passionate as blazing fire.
They glared for a long time until Gemma snorted and said, "Well, excuse me but I'm going to go and find Emma and get a doctor for Joy if you two keep glaring for the whole day." She stood up to emphasize. "Or are you coming?"
Flushing, Rachel stood up and said quickly, "Sorry. I'm coming."
As for Xana, she stayed icy cold and she rolled her grey eyes.
"You can't make me do anything that way," said Xana coolly.
Gemma sighed.
"Will you come too? Please?" she asked.
"The please always helps," said Xana breezily, opening the door.
"Alden, you stay and make sure Joy is fine," said Rachel as she closed the door behind her.
She saw a glimpse of Alden nodding.
