Quirks

Your breathing nearly stops when Shigaraki starts explaining his quirk.

"My Quirk is called Decay," you have the urge to stand up and leave then and there. As Shigaraki talks, you can't help but think about when your soulmates' Quirks manifested, completely zoning out as he talks.

You laugh alongside your classmates in the school cafeteria. It's your second year of high school, and you're enjoying life to the fullest... At least you assume that you are, anyway. Life is average, calm days intermixed with the occasional trouble that teenagers seem to bring upon themselves. You cover your mouth as you talk and eat at the same time. You don't remember the conversation very well, something about a new video game possibly? Whatever the case, the topic of conversation doesn't matter.

What does matter is that you reach across the table to give your friend, Watanabe Asami, a high five when the skin of her hand starts to crack and fall away. From there the rest of your memory is fuzzy, there's screaming, you think you start crying at some point, but it ends with you in a doctor's office with your mother. She's crying as you start scratching at your neck anxiously. You've finally developed your soulmate's quirk.

When you returned to school a week later, everyone looked at you in fear. With just a simple touch, your once normal life went down the drain.

Zoning back into the conversation at hand, you listen quietly while every person in the room begins to explain their quirk(s) to you. Finally, your eyes land on the last person to speak, an Alpha with spiked hair and burn scars. He sits at the bar next to Shigaraki, a glass of amber liquid resting in front of him. The Alpha rolls his eyes when the scaly Beta, Spinner, nudges him with an elbow. "Cremation." Is all he says before turning to face the bar again.

You should have known. With a sigh, you decide to keep quiet about your realization. It would only cause trouble.

The league members look at you expectantly. Almost as if they're waiting on you to speak. You roll your eyes, "If you're expecting me to tell you my Quirk, don't bother. I don't have one of my own."

The bar falls silent, uncomfortably so, before laughter fills the room. Toga clings to you tighter, clearly protective of you now. The Betas in the room calm themselves when Shigaraki raises a hand to silence them. The League's leader narrows his eyes as he looks you over, his eyes landing on your gloves.

"If you're Quirkless, what's with the gloves?"

You look away from his intense gaze, "I developed my soulmates' quirks and can't control them." At Shigaraki's silence, you glance out a nearby window. Aside from your car, the street outside the bar is entirely void of any signs of life. The rain is still pouring down, though.

With the newfound realization of where you are, and who you're with, you breathe out a long sigh. Turning your attention back to the world around you, you meet Shigaraki's piercing gaze. "Where do you want me to begin on the 1-A brats? Some are spoiled rotten, and some worked their asses off to get where they are now."

The Alphas seemed to know that already, Dabi waving a hand in the air as a signal to get on with it.

You roll your eyes.

A few hours worth of explaining the quirks and weaknesses of the top students in class 1-A and the storm has finally calmed down enough for those of you inside to not fear for your lives. Drumming your fingers against the table of the booth, you wait patiently for Shigaraki to share his plan.

"I'm going to kill All Might."

You snort. "Good luck with that. Countless have tried and countless have failed."

He frowns. "You don't believe me?"

You pat Himiko on the head gently, her blonde hair weaving through your gloved fingers.  "It's not that I don't believe you, it's that it's near impossible to get him to show up when you want him to for one thing, and for another, he's almost indestructible."

Shigaraki clicks his tongue. "That may be true, but our Nomu did affect him."

You pause your ministrations on Himiko's hair. "You're talking about that creature from the USJ attack, right?"

He nods. "I can't go into detail on how it was created, and by who, but I can tell you that it was developed to take down the Symbol of Peace."

You grin at the villain. "Good. It's about time someone changes this disgusting society we live in." You pause to think about your next words, and the trouble you'll likely be put in in the future because of them. "If you guys need any other info, Himiko has my number."
