JOY RUMMAGE THROUGH HER bag looking for her English note,she have an assignment she wanted to do before doing any other thing,she heaved graciously when she finally found her note
She jumped into her bed which make a creak sound with her pen between her lips,she opened to the page she wanted laying on her stomach when her door opened abruptly
"Still on your uniform?"her Nana asked and she smiled sheepishly
"I wanted to get this assignment done first"she said and her Nana nodded
"Be fast and join me in the kitchen"her Nana said leaving Joy alone to do her assignment
She was half way through it when her phone suddenly start ringing,she took the phone and the call came from an unknown ID,she picked the call and heard a masculine voice from the other side
"Joy"the voice called smoothly and for a milliseconds she thought it was Jonah but shook it off because she was sure she didn't gave her contact to Jonah and there's no way in the world he will be calling her
"Who is this?"she asked meekly trying not to offend the person
"Jonathan"the voice confirmed her suspicion and her heart skipped,fear gripped her immediately as her mind wandered to why he called her
"Can you come out I'm standing at the front of your door"Jonah said and Joy stood up immediately,all the fear that gripped her thrown out of the window as she wore her flipflop rushing out of the house
She ran to the door opening it with her heart beating erratically,she saw the handsome face of Jonah standing at the other side with his two hands on the black jogger pocket he was wearing
"You still on your uniform?"Jonah asked and snickered,Joy suddenly became self conscious feeling embarrassed,thank God she was black if not she would have been blushing like the whites
"I was on my assignment,plan to change later"Joy replied without any mishap of her words,she mentally patted herself proud about the fact she didn't waver
"You should go and change,we are going to jog"Jonah said and Joy eyes furrowed in confusion
"Why?"she wondered out loud
"I told you I'm gonna help you remember"Jonah said and Joy nodded gesturing him to come inside the house
Jonah made himself comfortable as Joy rushed inside her room changing her uniform into a multicoloured jogger and a pink jersey shirt,she went to Ruth's room and met her half asleep
"I'm going out"she said and her Nana eyes shot open immediately
"You haven't eaten"
"Don't worry I will be back soon"she said and her Nana nodded,she went back to her room taking her phone and headphone
She met Jonah sitting comfortable in the sitting room with his full attention on the television
"I'm ready"she said and Jonah stood up,she looked up to meet his face admiring the demigod standing before her
They left the house and started jogging silently when Joy decided to break the silence
"Do you do this often?"she asked and Jonah stopped
"Yeah,I love working out"Jonah answered looking at her for some time
"You haven't eaten"Jonah commented and she looked away feeling embarrassed
"I will do that when I get back home"Joy answered
"No you're doing that now"Jonah said holding her hand dragging her with him,she didn't mind him dragging her if she could have a glimpse of the sweetness that came from having contact with him,they stopped at a regular diner across the other street and went inside
