11: Protective Brother

Plot: Janus' brother, Logan, who's only a year younger. Remus and Logan both have crushes on one another However, Janus is VERY overprotective. 

Warnings: Remus being Remus. There's like one or two curse words in this. Eating. (Yes, I will put eating as a warning)  PS. Sorry this took so long to write,, I had very little motivation to get any writing done.

Janus, Remus and Logan were all walking to school together. Remus walked with them as he was Janus' best friend as he lived close by. Janus always made sure that Logan was right with him. You see, Janus was very protective of his younger brother; he knew he wasn't best at social interaction and prone to bullying because of his 'nerdiness' and his.. fashion sense but Janus was just protective of Logan in general as well.

Logan spoke up "Why do I always have to walk with you? It's not like I am a child. I happen to just be a year younger than you" 

Janus sighed "I know; and I've explained why enough times. Plus, Remus doesn't mind you either"

Remus ever so slightly blushed at that but Janus didn't notice as they just arrived at their destination. Janus had to leave the group first as he had to meet up with Patton this morning. Janus 'polietly' asked Remus to stay with Logan until class; which he accepted. The two of them sat down at a vacant table in the cafeteria. It wasn't too loud as they were always a bit earlier than they needed to be. Remus and Logan just made small talk, talking about their interests. You see, they talk often but not in depth by themselves. Remus smiled at Logan as he talked about his love of stars and how he got a microscope for his birthday last year and he uses it as often as he could. Remus listened throughly and slowly the conversation went onto Remus. Remus talked about his family; mainly his brother,, his interest in animals, especially sea creatures. He also mentioned his love of horror movies which wasn't a suprise. Logan smiled as they talked about the logistics of horror movies as well as their favourite ones but sadly their conversation had to be cut short as they bell rang for them to head to their first class. Remus walked Logan there as he promised Janus to do and headed to his own class.

It was now lunch and they were sitting at their usual spot. Janus, Remus and Logan were newly seated when they saw Roman, Virgil and Patton were next to them already having their own conversation. Janus was ranting about an annoying classmate to the both of them and Remus slurped down all of his juice box; as well as the straw, which when he realised, spat into Janus' face. Logan giggled at the annoyed Janus and Remus blushed, hard. Virgil, on the same side of the table as Remus, elbowed him and whispered "I ship it" which only made Remus blush a more as well elbow Virgil back. 

~Timeskip,, a month later~

Logan was zoned out in a class when he started thinking about his life. He started thinking about the people in his life, his brother Janus, his friends, Virgil, Roman, Patton and Remus. Remus? A friend. Logan felt off about that. He felt like he didn't want to just be friends with Remus, but why? Then it came to him. Shit. He developed a crush, on Remus of all people. How is his brother going to react? Guess he'll have to wait and see. Logan physcially shook his head a little, not too much as that would be weird to do in the middle of class where your supposed to be paying attention. But it's alright, it was science class and he was the best of his year. 

~Two days later, after school~

Logan and Janus were at Remus and Roman's house. Janus had a art project that he was parterned up with Roman to do and Logan and Remus liked hanging out together so it was a win-win situation no matter how you look at it. Well, unless your Janus. You see, before they went  to the twins house Logan told Janus that he liked someone but he didn't tell who. He narrowed it down a bit. To a few of Logan's classmates he talked with and Janus and Logan's shared friends. So that was Roman, Remus, Virgil, Patton, Remy, Emile and Talyn and Joan. He took Tayln and Joan off the list as their both nonbinary and Logan was very much gay. He also took Virgil and Roman off the list as they were dating each other and Logan talks to them the least. Janus was trying to focus on the project but couldn't. Roman noticed this.

"Hey, you okay? What's up?"

"Oh it's not much. It's just, Logan told me he liked someone and he didn't tell me who. I know he doesn't need to tell me and that he's capable to do this own things but I'm worried. I've narrowed it down to a few people"

"Hmm, okay. How about we talk about that so we can get it out of your mind. We can always continue the project later, it's not due until Thursday next week and it's Friday, you guys could stay the weekend if you wanted" He let a small chuckle at the end

"Thanks. Well the main people he's talked to that are male and single are Remy and Emile but they like each other and Logan doesn't talk to them unless it's about school work or Remy's coffee addiction so not them"

"Okay, who else?"

"Well the only other people I can think of are Patton, Remus and Elliot"

"Elliot recently came out as genderqueer to the drama club and their classmates, which includes Logan soooo.." Roman trailed off

"That leaves Patton or Remus" Janus finished

"What if it's both?" Roman suggested half-jokingly

Just as Janus was going to reply, Logan walked in. "What are you guys talking about?"

"Just the project we're doing" Roman anwsered

"Okay, cool, Remus and I were wondering if you guys wanted some food as we're hungry and it's almost dinner" (Let's just say that's the twins parents are on a buisness trip for plot convience).

"What were you guys think of?" 

"Well Remus wants pizza if that's cool with you guys?" They both agreed on Pizza and ordered what everyone wanted as well as getting some extra garlic bread. 

Everyone was now at the dining table happily eating their pizza when Logan's hand accidentally brushed over Remus' under the table however Remus, almost as an instinct held Logan's hand and smiled when Logan intertwined their fingers together. Roman noticed this as he had dropped his phone on the floor (his phone's okay) and he smirked to himself. Janus didn't notice as he was busy eating his garlic bread.

~Timeskip~

Around another month had passed and Remus and Logan had a secret romance going on. During the timeskip Janus had gotten a job so that meant that Remus and Logan could hang out as Logans house, and go on dates. They kept this up for a while until Remus ofically asked Logan to be his boyfriend and he said yes. They decided to tell the whole friend group at once, they decided to do it that friday as it was the last week of that school year (Everyone in the group was going to have one year left and Logan had two left). Friday seemed to come quickly, people seemed relieved for it to be the last day. It was lunch when Remus cleared his throat and got everyones attention by pretending his juice box was a wine glass and he was preparing for a toast which Logan and Janus found to be quite humorous. 

"I would like to announce something. I am no longer single"

"Really? Shocking" Virgil said

Remus scoffed "I know, it should of happened sooner"

Patton congratulated him as did Roman. Janus asked who it was. Logan took a large drink from his drink bottle. "Me" he winked.

Roman smiled with delight, knowing it would happen sooner or later. Patton and Virgil seemed to be happy for the couple as for Janus... well. He smiled and simply said "Okay, however if Remus hurts Logan in any way, I have a freezer and a wood chipper I can use"
