5: Realisations

3rd Person POV
It was the first day of senior year for Logan and Patton. They were simply class mates at first but they've become friends.  As Logan walked into school for his last year he almost immediately bumps into Patton by the lockers.

"Salutations"

"Logan! Hi!"

Patton wraps his arms around the other males shoulders embracing him in a welcoming hug. Logan, feels nervous? But a good nervous. He didn't know how to describe it. He shook those thoughts away and hugged back only for them to let go of each other when they saw Virgil walking up. Patton quickly hugged Virgil, practically jumping himself onto him. Logan had a small smile rested on his face. Patton was like that with everyone so why did it make Logan feel 'good nervous'. He didn't understand. He never truly understood emotions.

~Timeskip~

Patton, Logan and Roman are in a group for a small science project. They were all sitting near each other when Roman leaned his head on Patton's shoulder. He does this with everyone. Everyone is used to it but this time it made Logan jealous. A feeling he had hardly felt. It was unusual; he tried to focus on the project at hand but instead he kept fiddling with his pen until Roman spoke up.

"So what are we gonna do for the project"

Logan got out of his headspace. "Well, I was thinking we could...." he explained the plan.

"Sounds great! Let's get started" Patton smiled widely. Logan blushed lightly.

~Lunch~

Logan walks to his usual spot with Virgil. Today Patton had offered to help a teacher with moving some boxes and Roman was practicing for the school play so it was just them.

"Anything happen today?" Virgil asked playing with his food, obviously not wanting it.

"I realised I have feelings towards someone" Logan stated bluntly.

Virgil looked at him in surprise. "Really? Who?" He asked enthusiastically

"It's a friend of ours"

"Together we have a whole of three friends"

"I am aware of that"

"There's Roman, Patton and Remus. You hardly talk to Remus so not him"

"Definitely not Remus" Logan says thinking about all the weird things he's said

"And.. you've said Roman bothers you.. a lot. Plus the only one you actually have physical contact with is Patton sooo... Yeah I definitely know who it is"

"Please don't tell him"

"I won't, don't worry about that. Your secret is safe with me" Virgil smiled

It was nearing the last 15 minutes of lunch when Patton and Roman both went to the table with the others. (Remus was chilling with Janus that day)

"Hey kiddos!" Patton beamed

Virgil waved to him and then looked at Roman "How was practice?"

The two sat down, Roman next to Logan and Patton next to Virgil. "It was alright. The tech crew needs another member though since they're not at school, I get it, they're sick but who's going to join? There isn't that long until the play and we don't have a enough time to teach someone"

"I'll do it" Logan says casually, taking a sip out of his drink bottle.

"Thanks" Roman seemed greatful to have him as a friend (as he should).

"No worries"

"Don't you have book club?" Asked Virgil

"It disbanded since the president isn't attending this school anymore and there weren't many members"

"Makes sense"

~Day of the play~

Roman had finished getting into costume. Patton was on the stage fixing props as he had offered to. Mainly to be able to hang out with his friends before the show but that was expected of him. Virgil was chilling with Logan as he was setting up all of the lighting when Virgil finally broke the silence.

"Are you ever going to tell him how you feel or are you just going to stare at him a lot?" He stated with a small chuckle at the end

"I should tell him, but when?"

"After the show? When we're all going somewhere for dinner?"

"That could work" Logan said as he finished adjusting everything.

~Another timeskip because I'm not writing a play~

The curtain had finished closing after everyone had bowed to the audience. The audience was leaving and everyone involved in the show was backstage, putting props away, changing out of costume or just talking with others. Roman had gotten out of his costume and walked up to the three of them.

"Did you guys enjoy the show?" He asked curiously

"Sure" Virgil shrugged and smirked

"It was entertaining" stated Logan

"It was great!" Patton hugged Roman while basically jumping

"Glad you liked it Padre. Now let's get some food"

"Agreed. I'm hungry"

They had arrived to the restaurant; as they walked in you could immediately smell the food that could make anyone's mouth water. They sat down, Logan and Virgil sitting next to each other and Patton and Roman opposite of them.

"That was such a cool play, I wish I was a main character" Patton slightly complained

"You can be next time!" Roman answered as he leaned his head on Patton's shoulder. "And why this play? You usually like playing smaller roles?"

Patton blushed "Well.."

Logan noticed how Patton was fidgeting with his fingers and took note of how red he looked.

"Uhh... I just think it would be cool to play a bigger role, you know?"

"True. I love being the main role. The center of it all" Roman looked into Patton's eyes after speaking and smiled to himself. Logan gripped his drink harder, trying to remain calm.

~After dinner (sorry for all the timeskips. I don't want this to be extremely long)~

Everyone was just outside the car. Logan entered first as he was the one driving that night. Virgil got in second, in the passenger seat. Roman and Patton were still outside having a small discussion about something. Logan watched them in the front view mirror as he was slowly getting impatient when he saw Roman slowly lean closer to Patton and.. kiss him.

Logan's heart shattered into a million pieces. Tears almost started to form but he stopped them to the best of his ability. Virgil was about to ask what's wrong when he looked at the others and realised. He was about to comfort him but before he could they had entered the car. Patton looked ecstatic.

"Can I tell them??" He pleaded

"Yeah!"

"Virgil, Logan" he looked at them separately "Roman and I are officially dating!" He looked as if he was going to jump off of his seat.

"That's great" Virgil had a small smile, knowing how his best friend must feel.

Logan tried to focus on the road "Congratulations you two" (Congratulations - Hamilton lol)

"Thanks!!" Patton said as they arrived at their destination. All of them were spending the night at Patton's. Great.

This isn't exactly what I write but I didn't mind it. Also sorry if you don't like angst because most of my oneshots have been at least a little angsty. Anyways I hoped you enjoyed this! Peace out!
