"Gail, kelan nga ulit balik ni Pepper sa Vet?" She's stressed out now.
"The day after tomorrow po." Gail just answered.
"Oh okay. Clear my schedule on that day"
"Okay po pero Ma'am hindi niyo ba tatawagan si Cap?" she's not sure if it's the right thing to say pero worried na din siya kay Thirdy.
"Why pa? He clearly don't know how to take care of things." She stutter.
"Okay po. Tumawag po kasi ulit kagabi eh. Lasing nanaman po ata." she scratched her head na para bang siya ang nahihirapan sakanilang dalawa.
"Let him be." she rolled her eyes and continued typing on her laptop.
Without all the fake emotions, Bea is also worried. Anton and SJ texted her telling to talk to Thirdy. Hindi na daw kasi napasok yung tao. Baka daw bumababa na ang rango kapag patuloy pa ang hindi niya pag pasok.
She knows she needed to talk to him. To explain things pero hindi niya alam bakit hindi niya magawa. Galit ba talaga siya dahil kay Pepper or sadyang wala lang siyang maihaharap kay Thirdy at sa mga kaibigan nito? Kung tutuusin, mas malaki ang kasalanan niya. Thirdy didn't want that to happen to Pepper. It was an accident. But she's not ready to accept these things.
Her house blessing will be a week from now. She invited her family and her in-laws. Yon lang naman ang meron siya. Si Gail lang din naman ang kaibigan niya since Jaime went back to the states.
Deep down, she knows she wanted to invite him. Sobrang dami kayang effort ni Thirdy sa bahay na yon nung naglilipat palang siya. He was there supporting and helping her.
"Ugh so ungrateful, Beatriz" she whispered and shuts down her laptop.
"Gail, early out" sabi niya ng makalabas ng pinto ng office niya. Gail just looks at her na parang gulat na gulat.
She started her engine and drove back home.
The breeze in the cemetery isn't helping to her feelings.
"Hello! I'm sorry ngayon lang." she tries to clean his spot.
"Sorry, I have no flowers with me."
"Ang unfair mo naman kasi. Bakit naman kasi ang aga mo kong iniwan. Sana man lang binigyan mo ko ng kahit 20 years pa na makasama ka. Ibulong mo nga kay Lord na nagtatampo ako na maaga ka niya kinuha." she's ranting now, letting all out.
"I wanted to say na sabi ko naman sayo hindi pa ko handa magmahal ulit eh."
"I hated these feelings."
"What should I do?"
She stayed there, staring at his name. Thinking how unlucky she is for experiencing every pain life could offer.
"Hon, do you think I should try it again? Should I face this chaotic situation? Should I love again? Is it worth it?" After saying this, the clouds cried before she could even start.
She chuckled when she felt the raindrops.
"What does this mean? I'm expecting a yes or no kind of answer" She lets herself be soaked. When she felt cold, she walks back to her car and drive away.
She found herself driving back to her parent's house. Hindi niya alam kung andon ba ang mga magulang niya pero kailangan lang niya ng kausap.
When she parked the car, agad siyang tumakbo sa pinto. Det suddenly came out of the living room, shocked seeing her.
"Manang, please get towels for Bea" she shouted before walking towards her daughter.
"Ma" she whispered while shivering, trying to hold her tears.
Det embraced her didn't mind if she's wet because of the rain.
"It's okay. I'm here. You can always go here."
"Ma, I was mad. I said terrible things. He didn't deserve me." She's crying now.
"We all have regrets, Anak." she tried to calm her down.
"Halika sa kwarto mo. Maligo ka muna" Det lets go of the hug and envelope Bea with the towels given by the maid.
She just nodded at agad na pumasok ng banyo. She took her time. Paglabas niya, she Det fixing her table. There's a soup and a water.
She fakely smiled.
"Thank you, Ma"
"Eat ka na. Magkakasakit ka niyan." She worriedly said without looking at her. But Bea hugged her from behind.
"If the world turns it's back on me, will you stay by my side?" she whispered
"Yes, and we will create our own world." She kissed her forehead
"Tama na. Kumain ka na" she smiled genuinely.
Bea nodded at sinimulan ng kumain. Det ia just waiting for her to talk.
"I think I fell in love without me knowing or maybe I'm just denial because I feel like I still need to mourn over Josh's death."
She just listened to Bea's confession, waiting for her to finish. It took a lot of pauses, a lot of pain before asked her.
"What should I do?"
"Anak, I love you, okay? But I think Thirdy deserves to know everything. Don't be unfair to him and don't decide for him. After explaining if hindi ka niya, matanggap, accept that you made a mistake. Respect him. Hindi talaga lahat ng gusto natin pwede nating makuha. At hindi lahat ng nasabi nating masama pwede nating bawiin. I understand galit ka lang pero that doesn't mean na kapag galit ka nawawalan ng pakiramdam ang mga tao. Always remember that. Hindi excuse ang "galit kasi ako" for saying things and hurting people. Hindi ka naman nawawalan ng puso at isip kapag galita ka diba? Say sorry and explain."
Bea just sighed
"Thank you, Mom"
"Anytime and anywhere. Now, rest! Talk to him first thing in the morning" Det gathered all the plates she used at iniwan siya sa kwarto.
She tries to sleep pero siguro kinakabhan siya. She's creating a script on her head, when her phone rang.
"Anton!" she answered
"Bea, si Thirdy"
she's so nervous.
"Car accident. Nasa St. Lukes kami. Pwede ka ba pumunta"
Napatayo siya at agad na sinuot ang slippers niya
"I'm on my way" she ended the call and drives away.
