It has been 7 months now since she lost him. A lot of people say that Bea changed from being the warm and jolly person that she is to being cold and quiet.
She's a CEO of her own company. After what happened, people around her are expecting that the business will also rest and mourn but it didn't, the company was her way out, she worked so hard that she has a bag of clothes now in her own office just in case it will be another sleepover night.
"Miss Bea, phone call po. Si Ma'am Det daw po"
She motioned to save her, her secretary nods. Parang sanay na sanay na sa gagawin niya.
Det wants Bea to start dating again. There are times that she'll be shocked that there are flowers in her office from guys who she don't even know.
When the clock ticks 8pm, Gail, her secretary knocked.
"Ma'am, I know I don't have the rights to say this pero feel ko po kailangan niyo na magpahinga. Uwi naman po kayo. Matulog po kayo. Pwede naman po kayo mag day off or something. Ako na po bahala ma'am"
"I'm fine, Gail! Go ahead na" she smiled at her, trying to dismiss the topic.
She continued to sign and review the proposals in her table, when she realized she finished her work for the whole month, she sighed.
"Maybe Gail is right. I need to come home" she said to herself then packed her things and go to her car, she don't even remember when's the last time she went home this early.
After a few minutes of driving, she reached her home, she sat on the grass and touch his engraved name.
"Hi, sorry medyo napapadalas ang OT ko, hindi ako nakakabisita sayo. Looks like someone's visiting you ah, ang fresh pa ng flowers mo eh. Hmm may babae ka no?" She chuckles this time.
"I know you're smiling up there, pinagtatawan niyo ko ni Lord no?" Bea looked at the stars above her.
"I wish I could hug you again"
"Mahal kita. Uuwi na ko sa bahay after a long time of denying the fact na nakakahinga pa ko kapag nasa bahay ako natin, nakikita kita sa lahat ng sulok"
she's tearing up now
"Mahal kita" She paused and wipe the tears away.
"Ang hirap hirap na" but more tears are falling.
"Gusto na kitang katabi ulit sa pagtulog." She can't carry it anymore.
"Hindi ko alam hanggang kelan ko kaya na wala ka." She tries to seek for more air.
"Mahal kita"
She wipe her tears again and stood up and went back to her car. She sighed, a heavy one before starting the engine.
As she approach the village she saw fire trucks entering causing her to slow down so all the fire trucks can go inside the village first.
After a few seconds, her phone rang, It's Elmer, her dad.
"Dad?"
"Anak where are you? Are you safe? On the way na kami"
"ahuh I am why?"
"wait, where are you?"
"Driving na papunta sa village dad. Why are you guys coming?"
"Anak your house"
"What?"
"It's on fire"
"What? No?! Stop joking, Dad"
"I wish I am joking, anak"
and that's when she realized her dad is serious, she quickly drive towards her house and saw it, how her house is slowly turning into ashes.
A lady comes beside her, "Mam"
"Ate Leona, buti safe ka"
she hugged her kasambahay
"Mam si Pepper po"
"Oh shit shit. He's still inside?"
"Hindi ko na po nakuha kasi.." before Leona could finish her sentence, she ran towards the burning house.
"Ma'am bawal po kayo pumasok msyadong malaki ang apoy"
but Beatriz keeps on forcing herself inside.
"Mam ano po bang kukunin niyo? May importante bang naiwan?" a fireman who looks like their boss asked.
she's crying now "Let me in, my dog is inside, he's all I have, pls"
The fireman looks at her eyes,
"Ill save your dog in one condition"
"Anything" Bea answered .
"You should stay here and wait for him."
she nodded twice
then the fireman wore his gear and went inside willing to do it all.
although she keeps thinking about Pepper, she couldn't help but realize how selfish she is to ask the fireman to save her dog that will put him in danger, she's all worried now.
after a few more minutes, the fireman went out in the second floor's window carrying Pepper
she smiled so widely
"Pepper! My pepper" she called him
a ladder was given to the fireman who saved Pepper so they could go down
"Ay ang pogi" Leona commented.
He pets the corgi before giving it to bea,
"He needs someone familiar since he's in shocked" he said casually.
Bea nodded but couldn't ignore the wounds and scars he gained.
The fireman smiled and walk away but Bea called him.
"Mr. Thank you"
"Thirdy nalang. No problem, Mam. That's the least I can do" he smiled
