April decided to take Jackson's suggestion on their living arrangement. April and Harriet live next door and they will split the rent and Harriet's Education fee.

April and Jackson shared a case. They are doing surgery together. "This should do it," Jackson says while securing the first stitch. "You are getting better at this" April compliments, "I should" Jackson says proudly. "Hi" greeted someone behind April. "Oh hey!" Jackson greeted back. "We need extra hands," Jackson added. The guy scrubbed in and helped them. "Dr. Brooks, Dr. Kepner" Jackson introduced. "Kepner?" Brooks asked. April looked up "Yes", "April Kepner?" Brooks asked, "Yes, Dr. April Kepner" April confirms. "You didn't serve in Jordan, did you?" Brooks asked. "I did, how'd you know?" April asked "YOU ARE A LEGEND!" Brooks says excitedly. "Woah! You got excited there" April exclaims. "I assume you served too?" April asked while clamping. "I did, but we never crossed paths. but the stories live on" Brooks says. "They called you The Machine" Brooks chuckled, "You are pretty badass" Brooks added. "Oh! Thanks" April says slyly. "What's your specialty?" April asked. "I am
on Plastics" answered Brooks, "Same as Dr. Avery" , "Same as me" Jackson agrees. The resident closed the patient as Kepner, Avery, and Brooks scrubbed out. "Do you drink?" Jackson asked Brooks "Yeah" Brooks replied, "You should come later at Joe's" Jackson says then went out. Leaving April and Brooks. "How long did you serve" April asked, "three years," Brooks answered. "That's a long time," April replied. As they walked out of the O.R. "Are you hungry?" Brooks asked, "No, I got paged at the pit" April says. "Thanks, though," April says as she runs towards the E.R.

Later that day, the doctors of Grey Sloan went out for drinks. Brooks enters the bar wave at the table where the other doctors are sitting. "Hey" Brooks greeted, "This is Dr. Mason Brooks" Jackson introduced, "new plastics fellow", "Hey!" The doctors say in unison. "Where's April?" Meredith asked Jackson. "She got hold up on a surgery, but she'll come" Jackson replied, "Harriet?" Meredith followed up, "Baby sitter" Jackson replied as he drank beer. "your kids?" Jackson asked "Babysitter too" Meredith chuckles. "Hunt, Mason right here also served in Jordan" Jackson informs, "Really? How long?" Owen asked Brooks, "three years" Brooks replied smiling. April entered the bar and sat beside Meredith, slouching "I am so tired, I need a drink" April walked to the bar. Owen, Jackson, and Mason are talking, "Excuse me" Brooks says and walks toward April.  "Hey!" Brooks addressing April. April nods and smiles. April got her drink and they went back to the table.  Meredith noticed that Mason keeps on glancing at April. The doctors had fun and called it a night.

Few weeks later, Meredith is on the nursing station updating her patient's chart. April appeared beside her updating her patient chart too. "Hey," Meredith greeted. "Hey" April replied without looking at Meredith. "is Mr. Patterson stable?" April asked, "For now" Meredith replied. "So what's going on with you" Meredith asked, "My patient bled out in surgery.." April replied, "No, I mean you and .." Meredith asked, April is confused, "What, Mer?" April asked. "You and Mason" Meredith blurted, "Nothing" April replied and walked away.

Later that day, Bailey, Grey, and Kepner shared a surgery. There is a complete silence. "I like the silence" Bailey commented, "Me too" April agrees, "I don't, so there's nothing going on between you and Mason?" Meredith asked April. April looked at Bailey, "Nothing, Dr. Grey, can we just focus on the patient" April replied. "You and Mason? Kepner" Bailey says in amusement. "He is kinda cute, he's tall and seems like he's working out" Bailey says, talking to Meredith, "You can date him Dr. Bailey" April replies "I am married" Bailey replied, "I am divorced and I have a kid" April informs, "I am a widow and have three children, what's your point?" Meredith points out, April feels cornered, "Wh-what is this?" April asked looking down at the patient, "I am saying you should date" Meredith teases, "No, bleeder, I can't find it" April clarifies, "Found it" Meredith informs.

After the surgery, Meredith, Jo, and April went to the cafeteria to eat. Meredith and Jo are talking about one of the patients of Jo, when Jackson sits at their table. "Grey, I need a consult", "Is this about Kepner dating Brooks?" Meredith teases. "Wh-at?, you dating Mason?" Jackson asked April. "No, I am not" April clarifies, she stands up and walks away.
Jackson asked Meredith, "Is she dating?" Meredith shrugs "That's why I am asking, Mason seems to be interested though" Meredith says, "Yeah, the other day, he asked me if Kepner is dating someone" Jo added, "What did you say?" Jackson asked, "I said none" Jo replied, Jo got a page. "Mr. Frank, Bye" Jo left.

Jackson and Harriet are in the car waiting for April. After a while, April arrived, "Sorry, I got a consult" April apologizes. "No, problem" Jackson replied. Jackson started the car and drove. "So you and Mason huh?" Jackson asked, "No" April replied coldly, "No? why? He's a good looking guy", "Sure" April replied, "So you agree?" Jackson teases. "Where are you getting at, Jackson?" April asked. "I am saying you should uhm date" Jackson replied. "I am divorced, TWICE *Lifting her two fingers*, I have Harriet. I don't think someone will fancy me" April said, rolling her eyes. "Besides, I need no man, I am my own woman" April added, closing her eyes. "whatever you say" Jackson replied, April open her eyes "So how's your girlfriend, oh yeah! that's right, you broke up with her" April teases. "Point taken" Jackson chuckles.
