Merry Christmas

At Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital 
April arrived at the attendings' lounge, "Oh! hello" April greeted enthusiastically, "Kepner, What's your plan tomorrow?" Maggie asked, "It's Christmas" April says, "Yeah?" Maggie looked at her, "I don't know, I think I will celebrate it wi..." Maggie cut her off "Party at Mer's", "See you" Maggie added, while she walked out. "So you are throwing a Christmas party?" April asked, "Not me, Maggie is" Meredith clarifies, "I will bring Harriet" April says, "What food do you need?" April asked, While getting her coffee "Everything that you can?" Meredith replied, "You know me with parties" Meredith shrugs, walking towards the door. Mason, Jackson, and Alex went in the room "you three, Christmas party at my house tomorrow. Bring food" Meredith says, All of them seemed confused, "They want us to celebrate Christmas together" April clarifies. "Bye" April walks out.

April and Maggie are talking about the food for the party tomorrow. "I can bring lasagna" April offers, "okay, can you bring desserts too?" Maggie asked, "sure" April replied, "Hey, Amelia" Maggie calls, "What are you bringing?" Maggie asked, "I'm sorry, Where?" Amelia asked, confused. "To the party. Christmas.." April clarifies, "Oh! I am sorry. Link and I can't come. We are on call" Amelia explains, "You still can come" Maggie points out, "We have different plans" Amelia insists. Maggie rolls her eyes. April laughs.

The next day.
April is preparing the food that she'll bring to Meredith's house. Harriet is watching on the television and playing at the same time. Someone knocks on the door. "Sweetie can you open the door, that's your daddy" April yells. Harriet opens the door "Hey!" Jackson greeted, "Can you give daddy a kiss" Jackson asked, Harriet kisses Jackson. "Where's mommy?" Jackson asked, "She's cooking" Harriet replied. "Hey, what can I do?" Jackson asked, "Hi, No. I'm almost done" April asked, Jacskon walks towards April to see the food, "Looks delicious" Jackson says, "did you get the cupcakes?" April asked, "Yeah!" Jackson says, "Thank you" April says smiling.

At Meredith's house
"Merry Christmas!" April greeted, "Merry Christmas!" Maggie greeted, April handed the food, "Thank you, April. You are heaven sent" Maggie says, "Where are the kids?" April asked, "They are upstairs" Meredith replied, "You can go play upstairs" April says to Harriet. Harriet went up stairs running, "Be careful, sweetheart!" Jackson yells.

April and Jackson went to the living room "Hey! guys" Jacskon greeted, Alex hands Jackson a beer. "Thanks," Jackson says and sits down. Meanwhile, April went to the kitchen. "Amelia, you're here?" April asked, "Yeah! the new fellow insisted to take my shift" Amelia replied, "Where's Link" April asked, "On his way" Amelia replied, "So what's your deal?" Amelia asked, "Me?" April asked, "Yeah, you and Jackson?" Amelia asked, "We're Friends, Co-parenting" April says, plainly. "No one is doing it like you do" Amelia points out. "You guys, we're just really good friends" April clarifies, "It's like Mer and Alex" April continues, "No, no" Meredith disagrees, "You are like Meredith and Derek" Meredith says, "No offense, you and Derek are wonderful but no. We are not" April says. Meredith looks at April in disbelief, "Oh! April" Meredith exclaims. "What?!" April asked, "Hey! Kepner" Jo greeted. "Hey!" April says, "You want some wine?" Jo offered, "sure" April answered. Jo handed the wine to April. "Thank you," April says and cheers. April walked towards the table and set it up. Meredith followed her, "April," Meredith whispered, "Oh! you startled me" April says,"I know you, I know Jackson, I know you together, and I know you apart. I can see the way he looked at you. It's the same look when he stood up at your wedding with Matthew" Meredith smiled, and walked away. April freeze, "Hey!" Mason calls from her behind, "April" Mason calls again, April turns around, "Hey!" April smiled, "Do you need help here?" Mason asked, "Oh! uhm..you can continue setting this up, I-I uhm going to get the glasses" April says, "Okay" Mason smiles.

April went to the living area to get the empty bottles. April's phone rings, she gets her phone in her pocket to check, she misses a call from her mom. She sits down to call her mom back when Jo calls her, "April!", "Coming", April yells and  places her phone on the table. "Mer, where will I put these bottles?" April asked, "behind the garbage bin" Meredith replied, "April, is this okay?" Jo asked, April walks closer to Jo and gives the dip a taste, "This is good. good job!" April exclaims, "You've been practicing?" April asked, "I have to. It's Alex's favorite" Jo shared. Meanwhile, April's phone rings again. Jackson took a peek to see who's calling, It's Matthew.

Someone knocks on the door, "It must be Link" Maggie says. Amelia opens the door, Link gives Amelia a peck on her cheek, "I got sparkling water" Link says. Amelia kisses Link. "You are in time. We're about to eat" Meredith says. Everyone gathered around the table and started eating. Amelia clinks the glass, "I want to have a toast, Merry Christmas!" Amelia greeted, Everyone with their glasses "Merry Christmas!" they all say in unison. "This good lasagna, Kepner" Alex compliments. "Thanks" April says, "I don't know why your ex-husbands.." Alex stops, Everyone looks at Alex, "What?" Alex asked, "It's delicious, Kepner. Good job" Alex says, Everyone resumes eating. April stood up, "I think the kids are hungry". "Oh yeah!" Maggie stands up and helps April to bring the kids food. While the others moved to the living area.

While Jackson and Meredith left on the table "This is the best party you've hosted" Jackson says to Meredith, Meredith smiles "I don't know if it's because of me or because of April" Meredith says, Jackson smiled, "It's nice, you know. I know we're not anything but I feel like we are really family" Jackson says in contentment. Meredith smiled, "Jackson, don't get too comfortable. Soon April will date and she'll move on" Meredith points out. "Why did she say something to you?" Jackson asked, "No, she didn't. But soon, I think she will" Meredith says, "I think Mason really likes her" Meredith added. "He does, doesn't he?" Jackson asked, Meredith shrugs. "Do something now before it's too late. You've always wanted a second chance, right?" Meredith asked, looking Jackson intently. Meredith walks toward the kitchen. While Jacskon left there wondering. "It's time for the gifts," Amelia says to Jackson. Jackson stood up and went to the living area.

Maggie and April are now in the living room. Jo is giving away the gifts. Someone's phone rings, "Whose phone is that? It's been ringing non-stop" Link says, "I think that's mine" April says, "Where is it?" April asked, "Here!" Maggie handed it to April, "Oh! It's Mat.." April frowned, "Excuse me" April stood and walked outside. Meredith and Jackson exchange looks. Jo continued giving the gifts.

Meanwhile, April is outside. She saw Matthew called many times. She's contemplating if she's gonna call him back. Her phone's rings again. "Aren't you gonna answer that?" Jacskon asked from behind, April looked at him. "I don't know. No?" April replied, "I have nothing to say" April added, "He might be" Jackson says, April looked at Jackson and looked down at her phone. "We don't have a kid for him to check on" April reasons out. "He wants to check on you" Jackson says, The phone keeps ringing. "I don't think so" April says, "I thought you have moved on?" Jacskon asked, "I am," April replied, "Did you forgive him?" Jacskon asked, "Yeah" April replied, "But sometimes, forgiveness doesn't mean reconnection" April points out. "Okay" Jacskon says, hugging April. "Thanks, Jackie" April says, "Jackie?" Jacskon asked, laughing "It feels like a Jackie moment" April laughs, "I haven't heard that in a long time," Jackson smiled. "Merry Christmas!" April says, looking at Jackson's eyes. "Merry Christmas!" Jackson replied. April smiled, Jackson leans on, and slowly kisses April on the lips.
