"Madam, where do you think you're going?" Laide stopped me before I could step foot into her class.

Busted.

I faced her, trying not to give away anything through my looks. "Where does it look like I'm going to?"

She gave a frustrated sigh. "You have to stop this thing Kesiena. It's been two days." She raised up two fingers at me.

Yup. I have been avoiding Matthew for two days now and you might ask why. Well my reason being that I was on full misbehave mode that night. In fact, everything about that night is a solid reason to avoid him. Let's not forget that I couldn't be seen together with him or people will think otherwise.

Kes, stop killing yourself over this.

"Can you just help me out here please?" I begged desperately.

"No, go to your class." She dragged my arm and pulled me to my class while I kept on whining and begging her.

"Move!" She pushed me in and my eyes did a super fast scan of everyone in the class and let's say luck wasn't on my side.

He was in class.

Immediately I turned back but my so called best friend, wasn't done. She dragged me to my seat, greeting everyone in the class and i had to force on a smile.

I swear, I hate you Laide.

"Kes just be reasonable for once and don't get up from this chair." She calmly said and left the class.

With a sigh, I placed my head on my table and groaned but not loud enough for anyone to hear.

I stayed that way till I heard the siren ring for assembly. When I was sure no one was in class, I slowly raised my head up and the class was empty.

Thank God.

I left the class and went down for assembly which lasted longer than usual, due to the announcement of the school trip and information concerning the trip.

"Your various class teachers would tell you more about everything in your classes." And with that, the assembly ended.

"Kesiena Uloho and Matthew Bamidele, wait behind.". Mr Osai's voice boomed from the school's PA system speaker.

No, no, nooooo!

Whyy??

I could see Laide, Zino and Benji from where I stood and they were laughing their heads off.

Stupid best friends.

I scowled at them and that only fueled their laughter as they paraded the students to their various classes.

But seriously, he just had to use the school's P.A system, when he could have just alerted us through other non attention grabbing means.

I walked straight to Mr Osai who called us, and soon I felt a presence beside me. Very close to me. I moved a bit farther away from him and took a deep breath, trying to steady my frantic heartbeat.

He was about to speak when our principal called his attention.

"You two should wait for me in the hall, I'll be back." Mr Osai said and ran off to answer him.

God why have you forsaken me today? Whyy?

I was the first to move as I quickly walked into the school  hall and sat on the far end of one of the benches. I quickly flipped the pages of my SOP open, praying he wouldn't sit on the same bench. But it seemed like God wasn't having any of my pleas, because that's exactly where he came to sit. He did not only sit there, he moved till he was close to me.
