"Get up. It's your turn." A voice called into my cell from behind me. I stayed where I was and made no effort to move. I was just going to be dragged out anyway. There was no point.
"Are you deaf? Get up!" They yelled barging in and grabbing my upper arm, while yanking me up from my place on the floor. "Let's go!" They hissed in my ear.
I didn't dare fight back. It would only make everything worse. My eyes stayed to the ground as they dragged me to the cage. I was going to have to fight again. To kill again. To become an entertainment piece.
If I truly felt like it, I could have escaped the agent's grasp, but there was no point. Where would I go? Where would I hide? Sure, I could use my powers, but I couldn't stay invisible forever.
Cheers and yells could be heard down the hallway leading to the cage. We were so close. Too close. I shut my eyes in fright. The cheers circled through my head causing a spike of anxiety to shoot through me. My hands were clamming up and sweat was beginning to form above my brows. My body became increasingly heavier for the agent as I stopped my movements.
"What the? Let's go!" He roared, yanking me off my feet and sending me sprawling to the ground. "Can I get some help here?" he sassed at another agent down the hallway. They rushed over to us and grabbed my other arm.
With both of them having a tight grip on my body, they were able to drag me all the way down the hallway, while I was still laying on my stomach. The door to the cage room was opened and the two agents picked me up and practically threw me into the cage, before slamming the door shut.
Cheers were surrounding me and people were standing behind fences waiting for the fight to start. The door opposite to me was then opened and out walked a large buff man with blood dripping down the middle of his forehead.
The Slayer was what he was called. He's been in this game for a while now and obviously never lost a fight, considering he was still alive. He walked closer to me and growled like an animal. This man actually growled! It was animalistic and predatory like, but could I really expect differently? You get treated like an animal, you start to become one.
I gulped and rose my fists to my chest anticipating his moves. He wasn't as predictable as my other opponents. He wasn't being strategic.
A bell went off and he charged at me, but I quickly dropped to the ground to avoid his fists, which were larger than my face. I ducked under him and came out behind him. He let out a furious yell and whipped around, before charging at me again.
I ducked under his arm and jabbed my elbow into his eye, causing him to yell out in pain and stagger back, but he recovered too quickly. His fist shot out, smacking me in the face, sending me flying backwards into one of the fences.
I groaned and stayed where I was before getting back up only to be hit again and sent to the ground. I stayed down. I wasn't getting back up. I couldn't. I was so tired. No more. I wasn't going to fight anymore. I had no fight left in me.
I was going to die here. This is my last stand. The Slayer roared at the crowd before walking over to me and grabbing my neck. He lifted me off the ground and threw me to the other side of the cage. I yelled out in pain as I felt something snap in my chest. It was getting harder to breathe. I think one of my ribs were broken.
I shut my eyes in anticipation. I was ready to go. I was ready to leave and escape the horrors of this world and escape the things I did. I didn't want to run anymore. I could feel the vibrations of his footsteps coming closer to me and my body jolted with each step. This was it.
