A Missed Opportunity

I hate jets. Absolutely despise them.

Natasha, Steve, another pilot (whose name completely escapes me) and myself were on a jet to Germany in an attempt to capture the Norse god, Loki, who stole the Tesseract. That's if the quinjet didn't fail on us before we got there.

"We're coming up to the drop-off point." Natasha said to us from the pilot seat. I was sitting in the back part of the quinjet, holding on for dear life to the seat I sat on.

Show time. I stood up, slowly, as Cap walked up to the ramp that was now beginning to open. Below us was a kneeling crowd of people with a man, who I assumed was Loki, standing above them. His wardrobe is interesting to say the least and... are those horns?

Oh gosh, he was preaching to these poor people.

"Let's get this show on the road" I muttered to Steve, who took the initiative to jump off the platform first. I took a second to let his shield take the hit of an incoming blast from the mad god, before jumping down right next to him and landing in a kneeling position.

"You know, the last time I was in Germany, and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing." Cap said, walking up to the fallen god with me trailing close behind.

"The soldier. The man out of time." He said, standing up looking at Steve. "A... nobody." He continued, looking at me.

"I'm not the one whose out of time." Steve responded, while I just rolled my eyes, not even offended.

Natasha took this time to release a large gun from the bottom of the quinjet. "Loki, drop the weapon and stand down." She didn't even get to finish, before Loki threw a blue blast towards the quinjet.

Steve acted quickly by throwing his shield at him and running up to Loki's left with me on the right. He threw a punch at Loki's face, while I succeeded in punching his ribcage.

Loki kicked me in the stomach, sending me flying back a good amount of feet and turned his staff on Steve, hitting him in the stomach as well. Standing back up, I quickly ran at him, ducking under his staff, which most likely would have severed my head from my body.

I aimed a good punch at his jaw, his head snapping to the side forcefully, and blocked his incoming arm with mine when he went to hit me. I brought my other elbow into his chest, with my back facing him and saw Steve gesture to me to get down.

I quickly ducked to the ground as Steve let his shield go, flinging it at Loki, which was quickly sent to the ground, sending sparks flying. Steve rushed at him as I was knocked back into the ground by Loki's foot after attempting to get back up.

I allowed Steve to try and take Loki, however after being blocked a few times, was sent flying through the air. Loki quickly made his way to the soldier, placing the end of the staff on his head, forcing him into a kneeling position.

"Kneel."

"I don't think so." I said, coming up behind him and kicking his back into the soldier, who in turn roundhouse kicked him in the chest. Unfortunately, Loki recovered quickly and grabbed Steve, throwing him. I went to hit him, when he grabbed my arm and threw me at Steve, who maneuvered away to not be hit. I hit the ground hard, rolling even further from the god.

All of a sudden rock music began playing from the quinjet. Is that AC/DC? I don't think this is the right time to be listening to music.

I saw a bright light out of the corner of my eye that hit Loki, sending him back and a metal object landed on the ground. Iron Man. A bunch of tiny guns protruded from the metal suit. "Make your move, Reindeer Games."
