School has never been my favorite place to be, and I was so tired of going to it. I had this year, next year, and then I would be done forever. I would get a job or go to college but at least it would be by choice. My parents were very much in love and I learned everything I could from them. My mom was a doctor and my dad was a carpenter. I was an only child to a rich home and I had a couple of friends, but I was cast aside because of my wealth and no one wanted to be friends with me for me. I learned while growing up that you can't always get what you want, and that sometimes you have to learn to cope with the things that you do have. Today our school was going to go to one of the biggest farms in our country to learn about agriculture. I wore dirt brown combat boots, jeans, a white Cami, and a dark green jacket over top. I pulled my long brown hair into a ponytail as I always had and put mascara on. I loved how mascara made my blue eyes pop out and put my locket around my neck before putting on some earrings.

My mom knocked on my door and came in, smiling at me as she always did when she had news she knew I wouldn't like. "I have to work a double shift tonight, and your father won't be back until Sunday .. I'm sorry but his flight was canceled and that was the closest flight he could get. My schools annual father daughter dance was on Friday night, and something always happens that he can't get here in time to go with me. My mom had been pulling double shifts a lot lately with my father being gone so much, and I was constantly left alone. My best friend Mandy was moving on Saturday, and so this was our last week together. I had felt like a knife was shoved into my heart, but I tried my best to smile and nod. "Tha-thats fine, its just a stupid dance." I said, and just then Mandy honked her horn from my driveway and I quickly passed me mom. "I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow morning then I guess." I said and quickly ran down the steps. "I love you!" My mom yelled, but I was out of the house so quickly that I didn't have time to respond.

Mandy looked at me, frowned and drove off. She knew I wouldn't want to talk about it and she respected that which was why she is the greatest friend ever. By the time we reached the school, I had a smile on my face and we both exited the car. She bumped me and giggled and I couldn't help but smirk at her attempt to cheer me up. When we got into the school she flung her arm around my shoulder and we headed to our locker. She figured that we could share mine since neither of us used ours and we were always together. "So what havoc shall we cause today your highness?" She laughed and let go as I opened the locker to throw my bag in. I shrugged, "we'll just have to wait and see." I smiled and she threw her bag in the locker before we headed to the gym like everyone else that was going on the field trip. "You know I'm totally your date to the father daughter dance right!" She laughed and I nodded and laughed as we entered the gym.

There were cops with rifles in the gym and we looked at our teachers with suspicion. The rest of the kids came in and I was surpsied, there were eighty-two kids going on this feild trip. We usually only have thirty kids or so going at once, so I was confused as to why this many were going and because of the age range. The principal came in and stood up on the podium with a mic. "Take a seat children, I know some of you are wondering why there are so many of you here, and why there are cops, or why you kids are the only ones in school today. You kids get to be the first overnight field trip group of the school, you may leave now if you wish or you can stay and be adventurous. About half of the group left and Mandy convinced me to stay.

They cops stood at every exit now, and they opened doors so many nurses came in. They asked us to hold out our arms and that they were just going to give us a flu shot so we don't catch sine flu that was over there. I noticed that none of the teachers got the shot, and something seemed off about the entire situation. I resisted at first, but the nurse ensured me that it was for my safety. " Mandy something's up." I said, and she laughed. "Stop over thinking everything, learn to have fun." I nodded and looked around at all of the kids. The principal began to speak again and I paid close attention. "Now you kids listen to everything that we say and you will be just fine. We are going to split you'se into two groups and you'se will be observing two different parts of the farm because of how big it is. There is a juvenile delinquent's jail nearby your location but they are all locked up so you have nothing to fear.
