Naomi's POV:
I wasn't really sure I could trust Jason after I was attacked. All I remember was getting hit on the head and seeing him when I opened my eyes. A rose was carved into my back, and then I was given a rose by an unknown assailant. Jason has gone on about not showing emotions and since I don't trust him, I need to keep those emotions from showing. The thing that really gets to me is that I was attacked the night that Jason and I had an argument, and everyone else was at camp besides Liz and Matt.
I needed some time on my own, and it killed that three of the kids died. The third kid was fine, but she got sick somehow and sadly passed away. The sister and one other kid were the only survivers of the ocean water issue, we made sure that everyone now owned their own supply of water and that everyone knew how to make their own water if necessary. The little girl didn't talk much, and the other boy stayed around some of the other kids.
"Okay everyone, gather round!" I called, and everyone met me in front of our new building. "This is to be our home, no fighting and don't touch anyone else's stuff. And last but not least for you dirty girls and boys out there, no sex in the building either." I didn't mean to, but my eyes landed on Liz last and she shrunk back with red clear across her cheeks. With that being said, everyone headed inside to claim a spot to sleep. Once that was done, I went back out to start sharpening weapons and get a door on this building. "Naomi, what can you possible be doing now?" Laughed Ricky as everyone else came to join me. "This building needs a door, and we need more weapons." I shrugged, and many eyes went wide when realising that we didn't have a door to our home."
"Here, builders will build the door and hunters will come with me to make weapons." I called, and everyone split up into the two groups. My weapons were coming out very well, but I wanted to try and make different t weapons. I started making things like two sides spears, small ones, and lastly I started making arrows to make a bow and arrow. "You sure are good at making weapons." I looked over to see the little girl who had lost her brother. "Yea well its not that big of an achievement, I could teach you if you'd like." I gave a small smile, and she sat in front of me but said nothing.
I had made several new weapons and eventually she joined in. She studied what I did and tried to make what I was making. I smirked and went at a slower pace so she could understand exactly what to do. When it was done, we put them on my weapons pile, grabbed a new piece of wood, and started all over again. "Your getting pretty good at this." I said, and she nodded before we kept working in silence. Before we knew it, we had the biggest weapon pile on base and she was almost as good as me at making the weapons.
Ricky sat down and the girl left as though she didn't like being around anyone but me. "Did I do something?" He asked, and I shook my head no before excusing myself and walking down to the shore where she sat alone.
"Sweety what's wrong?" She looked over at me, and then back out to sea.
"Do you think Jimmy is in a better place?"
"Of course!!! And now that I think of it, you look really young to be a freshman." She looked up with a tiny smirk.
"I skipped two grades, and got to be in the same grade as Jimmy. He always looked out for me, was always there for me when I needed him." A tear slid down her cheek and I hugged her as she let herself weep a little bit into my shoulder.
"Jimmy will always love you, and I'm sure he's still looking out for you from above." I said, she looked up at me with hope in her eyes while I smiled and let a tear slide down before wiping it off.
"Mina." She said and I looked at her confused. "Jimmy called me Mina." She smiled so I nodded at her , and smiled back.
"Well Mina, let's go get some food into your stomach. It amazed me that this little girl who should have actually been a seventh grader is on this island. Then my heart broke when I realised something. Mina went ahead to get us food and Ricky was next to me.
