The next morning, Yoomi hits your face to wake you up, and you sleepily nudge her away. Jae is already awake when you sit up, and you take a moment to fully awaken. You grab your phone and find Jae in the kitchen helping her mother and sister make breakfast.
"Jae, you'll never believe who texted me last night," you say as Jae stands at the kitchen island across from you, washing some fruit over the sink. You pull up the text message on your phone and hold it out to show Jae. She squints a moment before exclaiming something very loudly in Korean.
"J-hope????" she finally speaks, and her sister turns as she says this, suddenly interested in the conversation. "He has your number????" Jae's sister walks over to you to hear more, and Jae says something to her in Korean. Her sister gasps and shakes Jae excitedly.
"Uh, yeah, I guess Namjoon must have given it to him," you try to explain.
"WHAT?! Namjoon has your phone number???? WHAT???!!" Jae starts to freak out, and you realize that you aren't supposed to tell Jae that BTS asked you to help them with their English conversations. You curse under your breath, as Jae talks to her sister excitedly.
"Uh......Rosie gave it to him.....if he ever had any questions about English.....?"It wasn't really a lie, and you just hoped that Jae wouldn't go spill the news to Nabi or the rest of the staff at Big Hit.
"Ohhhhhhh," Jae's sister chimed in. Jae looks at you again and notices you look nervous. She asks you what's wrong and you explain that this has to be kept a secret.
"Nabi....?" Jae asks you, and you try to explain that not even she knows that Namjoon has your number, but she did know Namjoon met with you at the cafe that one time. Jae translates this to her older sister, who closes her mouth tightly to indicate she won't say a word to anyone.
"What are you doing? We have to go back to Seoul!" Jae throws the fruit she had been washing in a bowl, and her mother scolds her for tossing it so carelessly. She bows at her mother in apology and then explains something.
"Umma," Yoomi walks in, rubbing her eyes. Her mother talks to her for a moment, and then she looks at you with a frown. "You're leaving????"
"Aw, I have to go back to Seoul," you try to explain, and she gives you a big hug while whining. Her mother seems to scold her, and she responds back in a sassy tone. However, they are talking in Korean so you can't understand what they are saying.
"Yoomi," Jae begins to plate the various foods her mother set out on the counter. "I have work."
"Noona work?" Yoomi looks up at you.
"Uh, yeah, kind of," you laugh nervously.
"Okay, breakfast ready," Jae's mother says in a thick accent and motions you over to the table.
After breakfast, Jae looks up the train times and finds there is a train departing soon. You change back into your clothes from yesterday, but Jae ends up wearing one of her sister's outfits, looking sharp as ever. You don't understand how she can look so fashionable every day.
When it's time to leave, Yoomi insists on walking to the train station with you, so Jae's older sister decides to tag along to bring her home. You thank Jae's family for allowing you to come to visit, and for all the food, and Jae's father firmly shakes your hand with a smile. When you thank Jae's mom, she pulls you into a hug and says something in Korean. With her broken English, she tries to communicate that you can always come back, and Jae tries to translate as it didn't really make sense.
When you are at the train station, Yoomi begins to cry a little and hugs her aunt Jae.
"Aw Yoomi," Jae tries to console her and pats her back. Yoomi then runs to you and crashes into you with her arms out. You softly hug her back.
