When Taehyung opens the door to the dorm for you, the first thing you notice is a small dog running at you. Taehyung bends down and puts his arms out to greet Yeontan, but the pup runs past his owner to greet you instead. Surprised, you bend down to pet Yeontan, who licks your hand excitedly with his tail wagging behind him.

"Yeontan," Taehyung pouts as his dog ignored him, and upon hearing his name being called, Yeontan turns his head but makes no indication to go to Taehyung's side. "Appa miss Yeontan,"

"Go to Taehyung," you try to nudge the dog to go to Taehyung, and he finally goes to greet his owner after giving one last lick to your hand. You wipe your hand on your pants as you stand back up to go to the dorm kitchen.

Taehyung has already set out some ingredients to make a cake, including a cake mix, and you walk over to the counter to read the instructions on the back of the box. Thankfully, he has somehow found an American brand cake mix, so everything is in English. Noiticing there are eggs in the recipe but no eggs on the counter, you look around for the refrigerator only to find the dorm has two. You open the door to one of them only to encounter a pungent smell, and you find the fridge mainly stocked with various types of kimchi.

"Kimchi for cake?" Taehyung walks into the kitchen looking confused, and you close the fridge door quickly.

"Where are the eggs?" you ask, and Taehyung nods as he realizes you found the kimchi fridge by accident, laughing a little bit at your mistake before getting eggs from the other fridge.

After washing your hands, you both roll your sleeves to begin baking the cake. You figure that having Taehyung read the instructions to you would be good practice for him, and you would carry out the actions. He struggles with reading sometimes, and so you often peer over from next to him to help him out. You try to give him space, but he steps closer to you when he notices you struggling to see the text from a distance. While it is all friendly, you can not help but blush a little as he still was the famous Kim Taehyung that you had so desperately wanted to see from the top of the MetLife stadium last year.

When the batter is finally mixed and put into a cake pan, Taehyung opens the oven for you to put the pan in. When you walk over with the pan, Yeontan paces at your ankles, and you nearly trip over the small dog.

Taehyung quickly puts a hand out to stop the pan from tipping as you stumble, and you feel him hold your arm with a strong grip. He lets go of your arm when you regain your balance, and you finally put the cake in the oven. Standing up, you come face to face with Taehyung's chest only a few inches away from you. He must have gotten closer when you had tripped, and so now you had to look up in order to see Taehyung's face due to your height difference. Noticing how close he is to you, he takes a step back, embarrassed, and looks at the cake mix box in his hand to see how long to bake the cake. You giggle at his awkward pose, as he was often very confident towards you, but suddenly had become a shy little boy. Pressing the timer to the suggested time that Taehyung reads out to you, you turn to face Taehyung, unsure of what to do while you wait for the cake to bake.

"Frosting?" you ask, unsure if Taehyung had gotten any frosting to put over the cake once it was cooled. He rushes off into a pantry to the side and comes back with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry frosting cans. He places them on the counter and holds his arms out, suggesting you pick the flavor.

"What does Namjoon like?" you say. "It is HIS birthday cake," Taehyung's mouth opens a little as he takes this into consideration and looks at the cake frostings. Selecting the vanilla can, he holds it out to you, nodding his head.

"Looks good," you say as you keep track of the timer for the cake. "There are still 20 minutes. What do you want to do?" you turn to Taehyung who looks lost in thought.
