Chapter 16: A Walk in the Park

The weather is beautiful out, and you are happy to find there are not too many people in the park. However, there is a man walking a cute fluffy dog a little down the sidewalk, and he looks over at you and calls out your name. Confused, you peer over at him, but you can't see his face as he wears a mask and hat. The strange man waves at you, and the dog on the leash yips excitedly. They walk towards you, and you just continue to casually stroll, confused but maybe he just thinks you're someone else. When you get closer to each other, he pulls down his mask for a moment, and you realize it's Taehyung.

"Oh, hi," you say with surprise as he quickly covers half of his face again. His little dog is excited and tries to jump on you. Taehyung says something to his puppy in a scolding tone, and he sits on his bottom, still wagging his tail and looking at you.

"This is my doggie, Yeontan," Taehyung introduces. You ask if you can pet him, and Taehyung says yes right away. You crouch down to pet Yeontan jumps on you and nearly knocks you over if he was a little bigger. He licks your hand excitedly, and Taehyung looks down to see you scrunching your noses together cutely.

"Aw he's so cute," you say and stand back up. "What are you doing here? Won't people....recognize you?" He puts a finger up to his mask and shrugs.

"Super secret....sshhhh," he says with a giggle. "Oh, Yoongi and Namjoonie are here too," he whispers, looking over at a bench where two men sit reading with masks covering their faces as well. He pulls out his phone and texts something to someone, and one of the men on the bench take out their phone and look over at you. He quickly pulls down his mask to reveal the smile of Namjoon, and he pulls it back up as he pokes the person, who you assume is Yoongi, next to him. Sure enough, he gets swatted at, so it's definitely Yoongi. They make their way over to where you and Taehyung are standing in the park, and they whisper greetings.

"Wait, how do you not get recognized? Are you safe?" you ask concerned, and Namjoon looks around for a moment before eyeing a serious-looking man somewhere nearby.

"We have security, no worries," Namjoon assures as he nods his head over to the person, and you spot the person surveying as he gets a thumbs up from Namjoon and continues walking around to survey the area.

"How are you?" Namjoon asks as you pet Yeontan again.

"I'm okay, just worked with TXT on some interview questions," you shrug and Namjoon looks over at Yoongi.

"We are going to get food at a bakery. Join?" Yoongi looks at him and then at you and Taehyung. You look at Namjoon, who smiles at you so widely you can almost see it under his mask, and then at Taehyung, who shrugs. You agree to join, and so the four of you start walking through the park. You are aware of the security guard that follows you from a distance, but you try not to let it bother you or the fact that you're out in public with three members of BTS in disguise. Taehyung offers Yeontan's leash for you to hold, as maybe it would help keep fans from recognizing them as they might know it's him with the dog. So you take the leash and step to the side, but Yeontan keeps wanting to walk towards Taehyung.

"Yeontan," you whisper and try to steer the dog away so that he doesn't make a scene, and Namjoon comes up from behind you.

"He's cute, yeah?" he looks over at the fluffy dog who uses his puppy dog eyes to get Namjoon to reach down to pet him while continuing to walk. You nod as you follow Taehyung and Yoongi, and Namjoon puts his hands in his pants pockets as he walks alongside you.

When you exit the park, Namjoon moves over so that he stands between you and the street, but remains at your side rather than in front or behind. You stop for a second, and Taehyung and Yoongi keep walking, but Namjoon calls out to them as they pause to turn back and wait, but he gestures they can keep going.
