"Omo!" you hear Jae's voice from inside your apartment, and your brow furrows in confusion. What was she doing in your apartment? You hear the shuffling of feet as you limp into your apartment, taking your shoes off and placing them in the shoe closet. You notice a pair of Jae's heels, along with a set of large leather shoes that you don't remember Nabi owning. You stand there for a moment trying to look at the shoes, thinking maybe Namjoon had left them when he was in your apartment the other day, but you distinctly remember him wearing sneakers, plus, why would he not wear shoes to go outside?
"Hey, Y/N," you see Jae slide into the doorway with her hair messily tied up. You have never seen Jae look so unkempt, and you know something is up. You look over at her, and she smiles at you, flashing her perfect white teeth.
"What are you doing here?" you ask, still trying to figure out the shoe situation. Jae eyes you looking at the shoes, and her own eyes widen with panic.
"Uh," she stutters and looks behind her. Jae has been trying to prevent you from entering the rest of the apartment by blocking the doorway with her small body, and you try to see around her. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary, although Nabi's door is closed. You figure Nabi was home already, so that would make sense. However, it did not solve the mystery of the large shoes in your entryway.
"Nabi and I were watching a drama in her room," Jae finally answers with a slight shake in her voice.
"Uh, okay?" you look at her confused, and you try to move past her to get into the living room. She lets you through, and you head over to Nabi's door to knock.
"Nabi, she is, uh, really sad from the show," Jae says, looking at the door. "So it might not be a good idea to bother her," she gives you another smile, and you know something is up.
"Aren't you tired?" Jae asks quickly, trying to guide you to your own bedroom. "You must be tired, the show is almost done and I will go home, take a good nap," she says and quickly opens Nabi's door only so much for her body to fit through the entrance.
'That was weird' you think to yourself and place your bag down on the floor near the coffeetable. Your ankle is still bothering you, so you head to the kitchen to get some ice from the freezer. You reach into the freezer to grab an icepack, and when you turn around to go on the couch, you freeze at the sight of a strange person in your living room.
You gasp in alarm, and the door to Nabi's room quickly opens with Jae quickly stepping out of it. When she sees you frozen, staring at the strange man in your living room, she exclaims something in Korean. The man looks at her with a panicked expression.
"Ah, I can explain," Jae shuffles over to you, almost looking ashamed. "This is my boyfriend, Jinsoo, and uh, Nabi was out and let us hang out in her room,"
"But don't you have your own apartment?" you stand in the kitchen, leaning on the refidgerator door as your ankle is still hurt.
"Yeah, but I have roommates who do not like boys in the apartment," Jae lowers her head. You had never seen Jae like this as she was usually more assertive and headstrong. This was amusing you slightly.
"Uh, okay," you say, trying to wrap your head around that Jae basically was using your apartment to be with her boyfriend.
"I'm so sorry, we should have told you," Jae bows apologetically, and the man behind her takes her cue to do the same.
"Sorry," he mumbles with a heavy Korean accent, and he looks down at the floor ashamed of himself.
"I mean, it's okay, I guess," you shrug. It wasn't like she had been in your room, you hope. It was surpising that Nabi was okay with them using her room, but to each their own. "Just don't be in my room, or do it on the couch," you grimance thinking about if they had done anything on your couch.
