"But am ready!" I said jokingly.

"Leo ni Sunday wewee! She said and a soft laughter followed.

"Does it mean on Sundays people don't give birth?"

"What! No, but did you want us to give birth?"

"No, I never meant that. For that, it's too early." I answered.

"But it's getting late and remember I should be traveling."

"Of course, but you can still travel back after that."

"Let me think about it, though am very afraid."

"You don't need to worry!"

"But wait! I have a question for you. And please answer me honestly..."

"Okay, ask!" (I hope it won't be about my experience or if I have ever tried) I said to myself.

"Do you believe am still virgin?"

"Yes, I believe that because you had told me!"

"Okay. What will you do if you realize am not?"

"I have loved you, I love you and I will still love you. Losing your virginity doesn't mean you're now worthless."

Sweeney picked her phone and called their class representative to inquire if they were to have CATs on Monday morning hours. She had told me that she was still thinking about my issue and I had to keep silent.

"No, the lecturer has said we just do revision. He will give us a take-away CAT on Wednesday. The only class we shall have is at 2pm, but the lecturer said she will confirm to me tomorrow morning." The class representative said.

I heard Sweeney saying "woooow, God is good" and smiled.

"Daddy, allow me spend with you tonight for the last time. I'll go back tomorrow." She said.

"Good news! Am happy!" I went to hug her.

"Baaat (but), that doesn't guarantee that we shall 'do it'. Am still thinking, right?"

"Am loyal!" I answered.

I had promised Betty to call her after the "Church Service". I thought that time would find when Sweeney had already left for school. However, things changed and I had to find another way of solving the issue.

I texted Otis and told him to call me requesting to use my phone. "When you come, request that you want to use my phone to access Campus WiFi. Come along with your 'kaduda' phone and pretend your smartphone has lost network."

After about twenty minutes, he called me. "Am sorry bro. Just come." I said. Sweeney asked me what it was all  about and I explained to her. Otis arrived and said exactly how I told him. I pretended to be too busy with my phone that day as a way of trying to decline his request. Sweeney chipped in and begged me to give him the phone.

"Please just sympathize with Otis and give out the phone, as your best friend." She said. "Should there be any problem, call this number." I said while  giving him Sweeney's number. I had to let him go with it.

Good! I was then free to mingle with her throughout without any stress! Swahili proverb would say, "Siku njema huonekana asubuhi". This can be translated as "A good day is seen from the morning". I could sense something good from the other side of the world.

After we had taken lunch, Sweeney went to unhung the clothes from the air-line. She wanted to iron them when I remembered I had no my personal iron box. "Oops! Otis took my iron box and he has not returned it back. I know he has gone to school now." I said. She had to believe because my clothes in the suitcase had been ironed.

No work to do? Yes! We resolved to watch an action movie by the Snipers. As one of the actors tried to shoot the opponent, Sweeney would hide her face on my chest and hold me tighter. It was my joy. Additionally, when two lovers would kiss each other, Sweeney would make the reality to be the case for us. I therefore found out that watching movies with her was more interesting than that of Cate.

The weather began to change. Shortly, it started to rain heavily that afternoon. The cold weather became unbearable and we had to get back to bed and cover ourselves. The only thing I remember is that we were woken up by the phone call in the evening, 7pm. I didn't know how both of us fell asleep. I got up to bring the phone to Sweeney. It was a new number.

"Just pick it up!" I said.

A male voice it was! "Where's Oscar?" The voice asked. I knew it was Otis. "Bro, am not through. Will you allow me to have it till 9pm please?" Otis asked. I overheard Sweeney saying, "Just tell him to bring it tomorrow morning." I told him the same thing. Sweeney thought that Otis would bring interference that night. "Thank you bro." He said.

There were some drizzles outside. I was feeling hungry and I had to take something before sleeping. We took omena and ugali for our supper. "Daddy, come to bed." Sweeney said with a bedroom voice. In her night dress, she stood up, hugged and kissed me while dragging me to bed. I thought I was just dreaming. "I need you to handle me, but do it with a lot of care." She said.

Unfortunately, I realized I had not bought condoms. "Oops! We need to protect ourselves but there's no cds!" I said.

"What can we do now?" She asked.

"Unless I go for it. But I doubt if the shop here is opened." I said. Eleven was clocking.

"Is there a chemist around?" She asked.

"Yes. But it's late. They..."

"Okay. Just do it. Tomorrow I'll go for pills in the morning. I don't want to get pregnant now."

A game without a referee is a game that can lead to lots of injuries and chaos! But what did I say I would do if I find out she was not virgin? Well. In the book of Margaret Ogola, The River and The Source, a way of confirming that the virginity had been broken was the presence of some blood, probably on the bedsheet. It was just but a dream in our case!

"Have you confirmed it?" She asked.

"Yes. It's true you were!" I said. She laughed. Maybe, she thought I was a fool who never knew anything about bedroom. Little did she know that I decided to act like a fool to please her at that moment.

The following morning, Otis brought me the phone. It was off and I never bothered to have it on.

"Daddy, I want to post these our photos. I think Betty can't control our love. If she likes, let her tell my mom. But I'll tell her you came to our school." She said.

"That's true. Just post them." I responded.

Sweeney went to the chemist to buy the pills. She later took them. "This will prevent me from being pregnant should my ovaries get ready."

"How did you know about this?" I asked.

"Haha, don't worry, Daddy." She said. Even though her father, Dr Ken, was a pharmacist, I doubted if he could have told her such things. Anyway, I had to believe her because she was right.

She prepared herself and she was ready to leave. I was to have a class at 8am but I never attended it. I took her to the bus stop near the school gate. "Thanks baby for coming. I have enjoyed being with you. I'll miss you so much." I said. I gave her the fare and shook her hands after she had boarded the vehicle. She began to cry as I was going back to my house. She was seated next to the window.

"Finally! Haha...good! She couldn't keep me waiting like someone calling Safaricom Customer Care for assistance! What! These people are just the same, just different clothes and tribes! Nothing different!" I was talking to myself after I had gone back to my house.
