-TOBIAS-

There is a group of people huddled around the net, waiting for the first jumper when suddenly the silhouette of someone comes into view. They land in the net with a thud. They groan a bit before grabbing one of the many hands.

"First Ju-" I start to say I till I look them. "Pedrad!"

"Alright buddy?" Uriah says, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Get off there." I say pulling him harshly to his feet. I see Lauren walking over to us out of the corner of my eye, she's a year older than me but her mother is good friends with Hana, and with the fact I trained initiates with her I guess you could say I know her pretty well. Shes always been somewhat of an open book.

A little while later we here commotion on the roof. It's hard to hear any talking but the train is load enough. Before I know it I can see a shadow of someone on the wall, the silhouette falls directly into the middle of the net and climb off the edge without help.

As he approaches me I recognised him instantly, he was from initiation last year. He was turned factionless as he didn't do well on the simulations.

"First Jumper!" I say in my 'Four' voice as Zeke likes to call it. "What's your name?"

"Tony Whealer." he says, looking around.

"Go and stand other there."

An hour or so later almost everyone is off the roof. I can see two silhouettes through the hole, I'm guessing one is Tris.

As the presumably last one falls, I can see its an amity girl. Amity are pretty uncommon transfers, I've found. They would never give up there peace and harmony gibberish to learn how to use a gun.

"Name?" I ask her.

"Georgie Cortez." she answers looking at her feet.

"Stand over there."

I give Christina the all clear to start her speech, Lauren made her learn something to say to them, whilst I wait by the net for Tris.

As she jumps I can see the smile on her face, she's clearly enjoying this. It makes me smile just seeing her so relaxed and care free. Once she lands I give her my hand, helping her down. I give in to the temptation and pull her close, giving her a slow soft kiss whilst everyone is preoccupied.

"Welcome to dauntless."

-TRIS-

Lauren and Tobias lead the tour, me, Christina and Uriah following slightly behind yet still in front of the initiates. There's an announcement later this evening to introduce me and Tobias as leaders, along with any others appointed.

I think everything is a bit rushed, a bit as it happens kind of thing with training at the moment. Because of the war everything is a bit muddled.

With Harrison being the only official leader at the moment it's not surprising as the amount of work leaders have is supposedly astronomical. But i guess I'll learn about that soon enough.

As we pass the chasm Tobias repeats the same speech he gave 6 months ago when I was one of these clueless transfers, and I mentally say the words along with him.

"A daredevil jump of this cliff will end your life. It has happened before and it will happen again. You've been warned." Tobias says. Deja vu. But it's the truth, it will, and it has, to Al.

I don't think the feeling of guilt from having something to do with why Al jumped will ever completely go away, maybe dull down, but always be there. And I'm ok with that, it's like a reminder. I don't know what would have happened if I had forgiven him, weather he'd have been kicked out and made factionless or he'd have the same fate but there's nothing I can do now.

I have forgiven him now, with all that has happened it's seams completely and utterly stupid to hold some kind of grudge against an old friend, even if he did try to kill me. Who hasn't at this point?

The tour continues and this time no snarky remarks are made from candors, maybe dauntless has gained a sense of respect throughout all of this, or maybe they've lost any they had. But it doesn't matter right now.

"There's a hell of a lot of them, isn't there." Christina says under her breath, nudging me with her elbow.

"I'm not surprised, they've been through two wars in six months, it's no wonder they want to learn how to defend themselves and there families." Uriah replies from my right.

It's certainly a very strong theory. I wonder how many of them actually got dauntless on there aptitude tests. Or even more than just dauntless. Whilst divergents are supposedly rare, which I don't think they are so much, I mean I know plenty already, just well hidden. Anyway, whilst there rare, being divergent has become slightly less dangerous in our society and I wonder how many would have the guts to join a faction where it's the most dangerous out of all. Sure I did, but I had no idea what it meant at the time where as now the news about us has spread I suppose it's understood more now.

Once the tour is over we took the initiates to the sleeping quarters, we had to... renovate... an extra room last minute and have some cot beds sent over from candor because of the vast amount of transfers this year. Another extra room was set up for the people who made it through the last initiation, although, it's pretty empty.

As we didn't have time to receive things like living accommodations or jobs at the end of the last initiation, it's just another thing on the list for the leaders to figure out. I can't quite believe that includes me.

I really don't want to spend the night in a cold, empty room with roughly around 3 people. I know Uriah is planning to stay at his mums for the time being and has invited Christina to join him, which neither were overly enthusiastic to do...

Uriah argues he doesn't really want to go back to live with his mum when he's had ultimate independence throughout a war the last few months. I believe his actual words were " it's too babyish, I'm way to mature for that now."

Christina just doesn't want to intrude, but unfortunately doesn't have many options.

I'm hoping Tobias is going to invite me to stay with him for this period of time, and after that... I don't know, I'm not sure if I'd be too spoiled after spending so much time with him to be able to sleep without him next to me, but I plan to cross that bridge when I come to it.

Although...

Nope nope not going to think about it. It's his apartment, I'm sure if he wants me with him he will ask me himself, I'm not just going to intrude on his personal space.

With that in mind I decide to find somewhere to spend the night, just in case. An old bunk in the set up room is probably my only option. Not very appealing I know.

I decide to think about it later and head off to...well wander really.
