Sorry for being tardy! School is top priority in my life so I might have some writer block or not enough time to be as dedicated as I was in the beginning. Which sucks cause I have everything plan, like I know what I have to write. It's just not writing yet. Anyway, enjoy!
Why did he wait last minute to study for tomorrow's test? He would never answer that question out loud. He knew the answer, but he didn't want to wound his pride more than it was. He needed to find a solution. He could ask Yaomomo, but she was having fun with Jiro and Ashido. He didn't want to disturb her. He glanced at his left. Sero was laughing with Kirishima, probably telling him the barman joke. Kaminari didn't pay much attention to what his friends were doing. He needed to find a solution to his problem. Maybe... He looked at Kirishima again, who was talking with his hands. He has gotten closer to his classmates, so maybe he could give it a try?
Before his mind could tell him to abort this hopeless mission, Kaminari stood up from the couch and went to the stairs.
"Where're you going, bro?" He heard Kirishima's voice ask.
"Studying," he answered in a breath.
He heard murmurs but he couldn't pay attention to them. He couldn't chicken out. He took the elevator and press the fourth-floor button. It was a risky mission, but he needed all the help he could get. He was the first person that came into mind.
The elevator doors opened and Kaminari knocked on the second door to the left. He was thinking of all the things that could convince the boy on the other side of the door to help him. Could he plea? It was worth a try. He looked around him, fumbling with his fingers. He was nervous. He really shouldn't be. They were close now, he couldn't say no.
He jumped when he heard the door opening loudly. He didn't look at the face. He was already bowing, his hands pressed together, his eyes closed with fear.
"Bakugo! Please help me study!! Just for tomorrow's quiz, please teach me!" he pleaded in one breath.
He opened one eye. Bakugo's face was in a scowled. His posture indicated he didn't want him here, or that Kaminari disturbed him. He looked annoyed and mad. Kaminari observed he was wearing squared glasses. That was new. He scoffed and slammed the door to his face.
"Fuck off," he heard faintly behind the closed door.
"Bakugo!" he said before thinking properly. He was banging on the door. "No AAAAAH! Please help me!" He was almost on the verge of tears. He thought he'd change. He thought they had gotten closer enough to do this. He guessed wrong.
He gloomily walked away from the fourth-floor. The elevator dinged, making him lookup. It was Kirishima, a smile on his face.
"Oh, Kaminari!" he said once he saw that Kaminari was sulking in the hall. "Wassup, bro?"
"Friendship is dead," he grumbled under his breath.
"Don't beat yourself! I'm sure there's still hope for a good friendship."
"Not with Bakugo."
Kirishima's face darkened a little bit.
"What did he do?" he asked. Kaminari's eyes grew wide. He sounded concerned, worried, exasperated, and smugged. What was that?
"Nothing," Kaminari brushed it off, "just didn't accept studying with me."
Kirishima laughed. Kaminari was bewildered. How could he change emotions like they were a switch?
"Yeah, you just need to push the right buttons."
He walked past Kaminari and patted him on the back. Kaminari was sure that a fly entered his mouth for how shocked he was. He walked towards the elevator before hearing a knock. He looked back and saw Kirishima at Bakugo's door. The door was opened. Kaminari couldn't really see what was going on, only that Kirishima was beaming and Bakugo's posture seemed more open.
"Yo, Bakugo! Can you help me study tonight?" Kirishima asked as if it was a natural thing.
Now Kaminari wondered what was the difference between his plea and Kirishima's. He basically asked the same thing. So why were Bakugo's shoulders less tense, his face looking up? He heard a defeated sigh.
"Which part do you still not understand, you dumbfuck," Bakugo replied, leaving the door frame. "The quiz is tomorrow."
"Haha! Thanks, Bakugo!" Kirishima entered the room. "There's a lot that I still don't get. Can I stay over tonight?"
Kaminari couldn't believe his ears nor his eyes. Bakugo just invited Kirishima into his room and Kirishima was acting as if it wasn't the first time it happened. But what shook Kaminari the most was this line:
"Yeah, sure."
Bakugo was okay with all of that. The door closed and Kaminari was left in the hall, flabbergasted.
"Friendship is definitely dead," he declared to the empty hall before he left. Then he remembered that Midoriya was also at the top of their class. Guess he could give friendship another chance.
That was... I can't put it into words. Interesting? Funny? Definitely not bad. Welp, not much to say about it. It was mostly a gag and I found the comic funny. Especially Bakugo with glasses. That's my jam right there.
Next up, Midoriya is really having a hard time with romance. We can all relate.
