I parked his car in front of my house and turned off the engine.

All the lights were off, meaning my folks weren't home.

Not surprised.

I look over at Gilbert putting the back of my hand on his sweaty forehead. He's definitely got a fever.

I'm sure I have stuff for that inside my house.

He just needs to get there first.

I obviously can't carry him.

I gently shake him "Gilbert?" I say softly in a attempt to wake him so he could relocate inside the house.

He stirred a little before taking a deep inhale and opening his eyes.

He looked around obviously wondering where we are since this wasn't his house.

The sky outside was a navy blue, the sun had previously set at around 7. After driving from Lamsons store, to his house, to my house it was probably 8:30 by now.

"C'mon lets go" I say nudging him.

He shakes his head "I thought you were taking me home" he asked.

"And I thought you didn't wanna go home" I responded with my eyebrows furrowed in slight confusion.

"B-but...I um... I gotta go" Gilbert says trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes.

He sighs tiredly "yeah I gotta go".

"Don't worry, you don't have to drive me back, your home so it's fine but I have to go" he rambled on.

"Gilbert, Gilbert" I say gently cutting him off, putting a hand on his shoulder to get him to relax.

He looked over at me with tired and sad eyes "I gotta go, Blair".

"Go where?" I asked him.

"Home, my family, they probably need me to run an errand or do some work" he said.

I nodded "yeah that's exactly why I brought you here instead of there".

He sighs "I'm fine".

I scoff "Gilbert your not fine".

He shrugs "I will be eventually".

"With rest".

"No there's work I need to do".

I sighed. He's impossible, even while sick he refuses to stop working.

"Gilbert...why didn't arnie come with you today?" I asked.

He paused.

"Because Amy noticed that I wasn't feeling good, thought it'd be best that Arnie didn't come during work" he responded.

I nodded and cupped his face between both my hands, forcing him to look at me.

"Gilbert, let me take care of you, please?" I say pleadingly.

He sighs "Blair-".

"Gilbert, your always taking care of everyone else, we may not be together anymore but you could still count on me, okay?" I say to him.

He looks at me adoringly.

"I'm a fool, aren't I?" He said sadly.

"What for?" I question.

"Losing you" he says looking into my eyes with regret laced in his tone.

I gulp.

"U-um lets um...let's go inside" I stutter as I remove my hands from his face and get out of the car, Gilbert following close behind.
