Draco Malfoy

I know exactly who he was before even meeting his eye, unfortunately I'm too kind to ignore..
"Hi, the names Lucy, Lucy Baker"
As I copy how he spoke a smile was placed upon my face.
"mocking me now are we Baker? And yet I thought you was like the rest" a sly smile crept upon his face.
I quickly laughed it off and continued to listen to the instructions given out.
"This task is to be worked in pairs, please turn to the person next to you and quickly start."
Great now for the next two hours I'm stuck with malfoy, but yet is that really a bad thing?

"ill go get the ingredients" as I scurried away I felt his eyes burn into the back of me I shook of the feeling yet I knew it was still there, I collected the ingredients and went to turn back around, as I approached the table malfoy gave me his infamous grin and carried on lighting the couldron.
As I started chopping and crunching the ingredients, malfoy stopped me everytime to tell me I was doing it wrong, he huffed and muttered about how stupid I was under my breathe.
What a great first day I thought to myself.
I was never good at potions when my father taught me, thankfully malfoy knew exactly what he was doing, as he whisped around I seen one last ingredient he forgot to put it,
Black beetle juice, I thought nothing off it while I dumped it in, I had used it many of times with my father before.
Of course I didn't notice malfoy friends mainly blaise laughing at me in the corner and before malfoy realised it was to late...
It started to fizzle and pop suddenly turning a pitch black colour, the stench in the air was unbelievably sickening, malfoy pinch up his nose and looked into the pot and starred straight to his friend's "this isn't funny blaise you know what this will do." he shouted, they stopped laughing as if something clicked. He knew what they had given me and it was only a matter of time before..
BANG
Malfoy reflexes caught just in the time as he pushed himself and I, into the floor while pieces of cauldron splattered and slashed through out the whole room.
Part of it was lodged into my face and I slipped into darkness.

Next time I woke I was in the hospital room.
The golden trio stood around me, searching for answers to see if I was okay.
"I'm okay I promise, it was just some prank of some idiots I should of known better."
"Just a prank!" hermonie screeched
"you could of died!!" her voice shaking with anger, not towards me but for me.
"how did I get out of there?" I questioned
"I got threw from my seat but I blacked out afterward so I can't remember anything."
The three nod to my left as I turn I see malfoy, battered and bruised worse then me, unconscious.
"what, why, how??" I questioned,
"he saved you from the blast, he hasn't woke up since, at least he was good for one thing! " Harry proclaimed.
"how long was I out for?" they all held their breathe and then Ron finally spoke,
"you've been out for over a week now Lucy"
"A WEEK!! HOW IS HE POSSIBLE STILL NOT AWAKE!!" the machines start beeping like crazy as Madam Pomfrey charged in and shoo'd them all away.
"you must not threat like that child you could make your self slip into a coma, one that is very difficult for us to bring you out of."
I slipped back into a dark sleep before she could continue what she was saying.

I woke up into darkness once more, I turned to my right and looked at the clock 1:05am, a letter was placed next to me, I knew who it was from the second I opened it.

" I told you it wasn't safe there Lucy, the first day and your already blow into unconscious for over a week!! I'm scared for your health, I would like it if you came home but I know the choice is completely up to you.
Father.

I wanted to go home, I wanted to cry and be soothed like a child, yet they're parts of me that didn't want to go, my father needed his space and I needed mine.

I heard movement next to me as I whipped my head around malfoy was looking right at me.
" are you okay?" I whispered
"yes I'm fine you blimbering idiot, look what you have done! You could of killed us both!"
With that I shut my mouth shocked at his response, I turned over and fell back to sleep when I woke up he was gone.
Time ticked to 8am as madam Pomfrey lightly stepped over, clicking her heels as she went.
" you can go back to classes today, don't worry the people who attacked you have been severely punished and one was excluded."
For some reason that didn't make me happy inside, I knew all attention was going to be on me, I'm the only girl to get nearly blasted apart on her first day in her first lesson.
I slowly regain my strength and make my way to the common room and up into my dorm as I open the door hermonie was just about to leave.
"I'm so glad your out! quickly if you hurry up, you can come with us and have breakfast."
I threw on my nearest clothes, ran to the bathroom brushed my teeth, used a beauty spell on my hair and face and off I went.

As I entered the great hall, all eyes were on me including the gorgeous grey ones that kept catching my attention. I slip into the seats next to Harry and chatted as if everything was normal, yet I kept glancing over to malfoy and catching him doing the same, I don't know how to explain it but this year is gonna be the best year of my life or the downright worst.

A brown haired, short, chubby girl burst into the hall and went straight to malfoy "I'm so glad your okay baby." she cried and she went over and hugged him, something in me clicked, jealousy..
Why was I jealous I don't even like him yet there was something about him that kept drawing me back.
I heard him tell her to move yet she clung to him like a child, one last glance before I went off to my first lesson of the day.
