I wake up three hours later when my alarm goes off. My arm is asleep and when I turn around to look why, Shawn has it between his hands, holding it tight, while laying on it with his head like it's a stuffed animal. He's so cute when he sleeps. A couple of curls have fallen onto his forehead, and I find myself softly pushing them away from his forehead.

I try to get my arm back from Shawn but his grip isn't loosening. I need to wake him up to get my arm back. I touch his face. Nothing. I call his name a couple of times. Still nothing. I start pulling at his shoulder, hoping this will wake him up.

'Are you ok?' He asks, finally letting go of my arm.

'Yes, besides you sleeping on my arm.' I shake my arm, trying to remove the stinging pain.

'I'm sorry. What time is it?' He asks sitting up.

His head is sleepy and his eyes are half-open. He looks at me while running his fingers through his hair. He looks so adorable. He lays down on his pillow again and tries to keep his eyes open.

'It's three o'clock. I need to bring my family to the airport.' I stand up and stretch my arms as far as I can.

'Give me two minutes.' He mumbles.

'You can sleep, I'll be back within an hour.' I say as I grab a pair of jeans and a tunic out of my closet.

'Adriana is in the guest room, so if you hear something, it's her. If I were you, I would lock the door, just to be safe.' I say, throwing the key at him.

'Mhm.' He responds while turning around.

I throw the duvet over his body. This still feels so weird, but I decide not to think about it this early in the morning. It's still dark outside, but the light of the living room shines bright in the hallway and the kitchen. Both my dad and Sheila are eating breakfast in the kitchen, my dad just refuses to eat at the dinner table like every normal person.

'Morning.' I yawn as I walk to the kitchen island, taking a seat next to Sheila.

'Good morning dear.' She says rubbing up and down my back.

I put my head on her shoulder and enjoy the warmth of her warm body on this cold morning. I feel comfortable around her, she's the mother figure I've been missing since my mom died.

'Did you have a good night's rest?' My dad says loudly.

'Gerard! Not so loud!' Sheila says.

'Dad, I think we need to see a doctor. Your hearing has deteriorated.' He looks at me with an angry glare. 'I think that's the reason why you're always talking so loudly.' I say.

'I'm not that old.' He says.

'We know that. We just want to help you.' Sheila says.

'I'll visit a doctor in Edinburgh.' My dad finally says.

I drop everyone off at the airport, three hours before their flight leaves. My mom always wanted to be extra early, and my dad also has that ridiculous habit now. I wave them goodbye before driving back home. When I arrive it's still dark outside. I put my car in its usual spot and head to my apartment. The night doorman greets me politely as I walk to the elevator.

I'm tired, but I have to be up in two hours and I know if I go to bed now, I'll sleep through my alarm and that's the last thing I want. I walk to the kitchen and make a cup of tea before turning the television on and watching a bullshit show.

At six-thirty, I walk to my room and grab a dark blue suit from my closet. I need to get ready for work. Shawn wakes up when I close the door of my closet.
