My colleague is talking to a client across from us when my work phone starts to buzz. I pull it out and look at the screen.

"Shawn Mendes"

Seven missed calls. Why is he calling me on my work phone? I told him not to call me when I'm at work. I put my phone on silent and put it back in my pocket.

'That's settled then.' My colleague says looking at me.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I forgot what we were talking about. He looks at me, waiting for me to say something.

'You can always call us if you have any further questions about the trial.' I say.

'Thank you so much.' The client says with a big smile.

We all stand up and leave the meeting room. We both walk him to the elevator before my colleague turns to me.

'Is everything ok?' He asks.

'Yeah, everything is fine.' I sigh. 'I just need some fresh air.'

I walk to my office and grab my bag, before taking the elevator down. I pull my own phone out of my bag.

'Twenty missed calls?!' I am in shock.

Did something happen to him? Fuck! What if that's the reason he called so many times. I rush out of the building and dial Shawn's number.

'Why didn't you pick up the phone when I called you?' I hear in my ear and next to me.

'Because I'm at work Mendes.' I say hanging up the phone and turning around to look at him.

He puts his hands on my face, scanning it with an angry and worried look. I grab his wrists, pulling his hands away from my face. He has the same worry in his eyes as the day he hugged me so tightly in the lobby.

'What is wrong with you?!' I'm angry too.

'I was just worried! Fuck!' He says, still checking my face.

'About what? About me being at work?!' I yell. 'You know I don't like this territorial behaviour!'

'It's not territorial behaviour. I was just worried!' He yells back.

'About what!?' I yell louder.

'Nothing, never mind. I'll pick you up at eight.' He says, turning on his heels, walking away from me.

Oh hell to the fucking no!

'Where are you going!?' I yell walking in his direction.

I realise that this is our first real fight when I try to catch up with him. Damn, why are his legs so long? And why did I put heels on today?

'Stop walking.' I say, this time not yelling, but I know he heard me.

I take my heels off, making it easier to walk faster. I see some people turning at us, wondering why we're yelling at each other in the middle of the street. But I really couldn't care less about those people.

'Please...' I take a deep breath. 'Shawn.'

When he hears his name coming out of my mouth he turns around to look at me. He stands still, and when I reach him I wrap my arms around him. He does the same, pulling me close against his body.
