"Honey, I'm home!" Devyn sang happily as she kicked open the door to the Chateau, a bag of groceries in her hand. The bag consisted of food and water bowls, cat food, and a litter box. Her black tank top was torn on the shoulder, a copious amount of blood dripping from the gaping would from crazy Crain's fire poker, causing her to get some weird stares at the store at 3 in the morning. Her skin was pale and covered in a thin sheet of sweat due to all the blood she lost, her hair and clothes wet from the rain. The bags under her eyes were more prominent than they had ever been, hues of lilac and rose painted under her eyes.

"Jesus Christ, you look like Carrie," JJ's eyes widened at the sight of her shoulder and arm covered in blood, brows furrowing in concern at her appearance.

The Pogues were all still awake, high on adrenaline from their discovery of the gold. Devyn shrugged, setting the bag of supplies on the table as she started to unload it, Leon coming over and rubbing against her legs affectionately.

Pope and Kiara watched with amused expressions as she set up the litter box, as well as the food and water bowls.

"Hi sweet boy," Devyn cooed at the orange cat, sitting on the ground to pet his exposed stomach. Leon quickly curled into a ball in her lap, soft snores leaving the cat's mouth as tears welled in Devyn's eyes. "Guys, look! He loves me!"

"I think you might need stitches," Pope spoke up, his eyes flickering to the wound that was still bleeding. "You look like shit."

"So stitch me up, coroner man," Devyn shrugged, smiling as JJ sat next to her to pet the cat.

"I don't know how to do that!" Pope exclaimed exasperatedly.

"Figure it out. I know you're gonna be sewing up dead bodies so you might as well start on a living one," Devyn rationalized, her mouth dry as she spoke.

"I'm gonna get you some water, sunshine," JJ told her softly, concern filling every bone in his body. She looked like death.

Pope came out of the bathroom minutes later, a first aid kid in hand. He managed to find some thread, opting for a fishing hook to use as a needle.

JJ sat down next to her, passing her the water and smoothing the hair out of her face.

"This is gonna hurt," Pope told her after he sterilized the unused hook, brows furrowed together in concentration as he threaded the string through it.

"It's gonna hurt more since you don't know what you're doing," Kiara rolled her eyes as she joined them on the floor, her and JJ each grabbing one of Devyn's hands. "We should just go to a hospital."

"I don't have money for the medical bill," Devyn winced as Pope pushed the fishing hook through her skin. "Plus, it'll be good practice for Pope here when he's stitching up some stiffie."

JJ winced, not watching as Pope began to messily stitch her wound, Kiara averting her gaze as well.

"See! You're doing great so far! I hope," Devyn frowned, trying to look down at Pope's hands.

"Don't. Move," Pope said through gritted teeth, doing his best to make sure he sewed the wound as accurately as possible.

"Sorry," Devyn's facial expression mocked him slightly as she instead ran her thumb over the rings on JJ's fingers.

She would say the stitches were uncomfortable rather than painful. She had felt so much pain in her life, so much hurt, that this felt like practically nothing.

"I think I should definitely get a tattoo if I can handle some rusty fish hook stitchin' me up," Devyn thought aloud as Kiara and JJ stared at her bewilderedly.

"How are you not screaming right now?" Kiara scoffed, gagging as she watched Pope thread the fish hook through her skin.

"Because I am a god," Devyn teased, JJ chuckling lowly, watching as she played with his rings. "I think you guys are more freaked out than me.

JJ gagged aloud as he looked at her shoulder, his face paling considerably, although he stayed put for Devyn's sake. "I think you might be right."

"I'm always right," Devyn stated confidently, Kiara chuckling lowly.

Leon was still curled in her lap, although he was whining for affection.

"Kie, pet him."

"I don't wanna pet the axe murderer's cat," Kiara stressed through gritted teeth, squeezing Devyn's hand tightly.

"Don't talk about him like that when he's right here!" Devyn seethed. "He's our cat now. Pet him!"

Kiara groaned as she pet the cat, although her expression softened once he started purring in happiness. "Okay, fine. He's cute. I just wish his name wasn't Leon."

"That crazy old bat would name her cat Leon," Pope mumbled as he threaded the last stitch, tying the thread together tightly.

"You guys are so mean to him. He has feelings too, ya know?" Devyn frowned, holding back a wince.

"No, he doesn't. Cats don't have feelings. They don't have thoughts," Pope shook his head, beginning to wipe the blood from her arm now that he had finished.

"Pope, if that's what you believe, then I'm very concerned for your emotional wellbeing," Devyn gaped at him, looking down at her now stitched wound.

The thread was black and the stitches were messy, but the wound was closed. It looked like something out of Frankenstein, but a smile grew on her face.

"Thanks, Pope! This is gonna leave a wicked scar!" She said excitedly as Kie let go of her hand, JJ keeping their fingers interlocked.

"Sometimes I forget how weird you are," JJ mumbled as she shot him a daring look.

"I just like scars. They tell a story," Devyn shrugged, sticking her tongue out at him. She was still pale and sickly looking, but she felt a little better.

"Let's get you to bed, sunshine," JJ told her softly, rubbing the small of her back soothingly.

Pope began to clean up the supplies as Kiara flopped back onto the pull-out couch. John B and Sarah had to go back to Tannyhill before Ward realized they were gone.

Devyn nodded, trying to stand up before her feet gave out, although JJ's hands wrapped around her waist before she could hit the ground, her head spinning.

"I gotchu, I gotchu," JJ whispered, helping keep her upright. "You lost a lot of blood, you have to take it easy," he told her softly, gently guiding her to John B's room.

"I better not hear any-"

"Shut up!" Devyn and JJ snapped in unison as she sat on the bed, groaning as she laid down. The pain was starting to intensify in her shoulder and she felt like she could pass out.

JJ laid down next to her, smoothing her hair out of her face and pressing a kiss to her temple.

"Do you need anything, doll?" The blonde boy asked her softly, the girl shaking her head in response as she rested on his bicep.

"Just you."
