Devyn wasn't quite sure where she started and the numbness stopped. It was entirely consuming her very essence, taking up every molecule in her body until it was all she knew.

First, her mom died. And now the man who practically raised her was gone too.

She didn't have the energy to be sad, or to cry, no matter how badly she truly needed to. Instead, she simply allowed John B to take them wherever they were headed to— she didn't care about the destination.

Right now, all she wanted was revenge.

She had felt it getting stronger for a while— that simmering, uncontrollable rage that seemed to claw its way up her throat no matter how hard she tried to swallow. It caused her to sputter and choke if she wasn't careful. It was almost as if the anger within her veins was ancient, dating back thousands of years and had never stopped building since, threatening to swallow her whole. But this time, she wasn't sure if she wanted to stop it.

The drive to the Cameron's was relatively quiet, spare for boy's retelling of Ward's attempted murder a mere hours earlier, as well as his talk with Lana Grubbs.

Devyn didn't have the energy to be hurt by Lana's betrayal at the moment.

John B parked the bike around the back, looking at Devyn as she sun decided to give the moon time to breathe for the night, splashing them into darkness.

"Do we have a plan?" Devyn asked quietly, handing the gun back to the boy who knew her better than most.

Her earth-toned eyes quickly fluttered to the ground when the look on John B's face mirrored the anger she was feeling. It made her feel guilty for some reason— remembering that Big John wasn't actually her father— that John B was more entitled to his grief than she was. It made her go quiet, in mind and body.

"I-I don't know," John B ran a hand through his hair, his eyes rimmed red, his jaw clenched tightly. "I'm sorry you had to find out like this."

"I'm sorry too," Devyn muttered quietly, the corner of her lips twitching up in what could barely be classified as a smile. "Whatever you do, I'm with you. You know that."

"I know, Bug," John B gave her the same forced smile, grabbing her hand as they started toward the house in silence.

Thankfully, the back door was unlocked, the large house coated in a thick silence as the pair snuck quietly up the stairs, taking every turn as slowly and carefully as they could.
