"Ate! Halika maligo tayo!"
Ngumisi ako at umiling "ikaw nalang Oli! Wala akong dalang damit!"
I stared at her....
5 minutes had passed, still....
10 minutes.....
15......
"Ate!"
"Hmm?"
"Dumi ba mukha ko?" She asked and wiped her face with his shirt
"No"
"Then why are you staring then?" She asked
"Did you just?...."
"Yes!!" She exclaimed
She jumped around while shouting "yes! I know how to speak english!"
I calmed her down
"So what if you knew how to speak english?" I asked curiously
"Uhm Oli? Can you please stop telling visaya word? Because I don't understand anything" I said
"Oh! Sorry!"
"So what if you knew how to speak english?" I asked again
She said in tagalog
"So... where do you want to work pala?" I asked
"Kung asa ka galing" she said. Still saying visaya word, tho I understand... slayt!
"New York"
"Ha?"
"New York ako galing" paglilinaw ko
Tumango tango naman siya
"Anong itsura ng New Yurk ate?"
I pinched her cheeks and looked at the horizon
"Buildings. Cars. Smoke. Peoples. Lights. Freedom"
"Hmm" she said and leaned on me
"Kapag nasa city ka! Buildings are everywhere! Cars are everywhere! Smokes from cigarettes, cars and factories. "
