--Taehyung stood alone on the beach, gazing over the ocean-colored water with his sincere auburn orbs. His copper hair rustled lightly in the ocean breeze. He smiled to himself with anticipation, resting his cheek against one hand as he hummed "My Heart Will Go On" to himself. He wore an ebon shirt that left his toast-colored arms bare and starless shorts that looked comfortable and easy to wear. His auburn strands brushed against his earlobes, complementing his guileless tawny visage.

His thoughts wandered to his days in Jungkook's company. It must have been fate in a mortal form that brought them together. He knew from the moment he laid eyes on him that they were meant to be. From then on, they were inseparable. They shared every part of their life with each other. That was how it was to this very day.

"Taehyung," Jungkook said simply with an admiring look-over and a smile on his face. His amber depths complimented his raven coiffure, brushing against his ears, belying his incorrigible heart. He was dressed in his usual everyday clothes. He had a toned but slender body covered with pearly, tinted with henna, skin. An elaborate tattoo snaked its way around his visible skin. As Taehyung drew nearer, he caught a note of Jungkook's familiar scent, a mixture of earthiness and sourness that was uniquely his. He smiled to himself. It always reminded him of the time they shared.

"Oh, Kook! You came!" Taehyung said breathlessly, reaching out to take him into an embrace. Jungkook let him hug him, seeming almost embarrassed about it as he patted his back. With that, they began to walk along the beach.

"What have you been doing lately?" Taehyung asked.

"You know. Sneaking around. Saving the world. Sweeping a fine gentleman off his feet." Jungkook gave him a self-assured grin. "Other than that? Nothing important."

He laughed and lightly shoved Jungkook's arm. "Oh, you. You're such a..."

"Rogue? Beast? Uncontested master of awesome?"

"Rogue," Taehyung said lightly. "Definitely rogue." Jungkook leered at him before reaching to ruffle his hair, leaving his auburn hair askew. "Oh, stop it!" he protested lightly, running his fingers back through his hair to straighten it out, all the while smiling. Jungkook grinned. Jungkook lapsed momentarily into an uncharacteristic silence. Taehyung angled his head in response. "What is it?"

"I just keep thinking about how long it's been since we met, you know. I mean, I know it hasn't been that long -- but..." A rare serious look passed over Jungkook's face. "It's like you've always been there."

Taehyung shrugged and looked away. For a moment, Jungkook's heart hammered in his chest, but then Taehyung looked back toward him and he saw that he was blushing. "We've been through a lot together."

That was the truth. Taehyung tried to remember just how long it was since they'd met -- but before he had a chance to, he found Jungkook's fingers under his chin, tilting up his face to press their lips together.

When they parted, Taehyung's pools ran speechlessly across Jungkook's face. "We're in public," he whispered.

"I know."

Then Taehyung looped his arms around Jungkook's neck and did it again.

After a few moments, they found themselves walking down the beach again. Something rose to the front of Taehyung's mind -- something he had been trying to beat back all this time. It was so special to him to be with Jungkook, and he didn't want to pass that time making them both feel horrible. But it just wouldn't leave him alone.
