It sounded like my guitar
The deafening sound of gunshots a far
Only the strings brought me peace
But this Angel of death took away my only solace
My heart beat madly
Like the tum tum drumsMaybe it would end here
Maybe the hour had come
I wanted to close my eyes and wait for it
But am a solder, we suffer through it
We don't die without a fight
The pains we suffer in building the nationI staggered and stambled like a drunkard
I was drunk from unhelplessness and desperation
And this kills a man first than a Python
That I found waiting to take a piece of me
I had him at gunpoint and he was ready to bite
We challenged each other at this game of survivalWe were both distracted by something that flew past me
My whole body was shaking
As I recognized my comrades arm
A loud scream stuck in my throat
As I tried to unlive this moment
I would have to close my eyes to this demons every night
I came out from my hiding shooting like a mad man
Jungle madness is real~C. Gitau
