Melanie's POV
White.
An endless field of white surrounded me. Just white.
Until I saw a figure in the distance.
It was Katie. She was crying, her cheeks tear-stained and puffy. She wore a plain white dress that reached her ankles. The ground beneath her began to crumble and fall. I held out my hand for her to grab it and save herself, but she too crumbled and flew away.
I yelled her name but she was gone.
I kept walking to see if I could get my mind off it but that didn't work until I saw Audrey.
She wore a similar dress to Katie's but Audrey's went down to her mid-thigh. Her eyes were lifeless and glassy as if she were about to burst into tears. The ground, same as it had been with Katie, crumbled beneath her. Again, like Katie, Audrey crumbled and flew away.
Then, I opened my eyes.
---------------------
Katie had her arms folded on the edge of my bed spread. Audrey was looking down, lifeless, just as she had been in my dream before she looked up and saw me.
"Melanie! Youre awake!" She cried. "I thought you'd never wake up."
Katie's eyes fluttered open and she saw me. Her chocolately eyes glittered and she hugged me too.
"Its been a year. An entire year before I saw your eyes open." Katie mummered.
"Nice to see you guys again." I smiled, hugging them the best I could with wires attached to me.
"I'm gonna go get a nurse." Audrey said, leaving the room.
"How ya doing?" Katie asked me, moving away.
"I have a slight headache, but other than that, I'm fine."
"I'm back!" Audrey cheered, knocking over a magazine. I could see Louis' face decorating the cover. I couldn't see the other half, though.
The nurse left the room to tell my doctor.
"Sorry to break the welcome back feast, but where is Louis?"
The girls tensed up when I asked. They looked at each other and pretended not to hear me.
"Seriously?" I asked. Then I saw it.
On the counter was a magazine. Louis was on the cover with a girl. She was pretty. The girl had wavy brown hair, chocolate brown eyes and a smirk plastered on her face. (Vanessa Hudgens)
"A year, you say?" I mummered. "He already moved on."
"Yeah, um, we didn't want you to see that..."
He moved on, clearly. In a small picture in the corner, Louis and the girl were kissing.
Too bad.
I probably couldn't move on from him.
Well that's the end.
Wowzas.
I feel like I could have done better stuff with my final chapter.
But oh well!
