Kaelin didn't know why but she had miraculously felt better. Ever since she had since her mate unconscious on the table, she had felt his pain, but with this, she knew that he had become better. She couldn't believe that she seemed to be so worried over someone who had taken her human life away from her, she wanted to stay human, not become a werewolf.
"Why were the cops talking to you this morning before school Stiles?" Scott asked confused, looking at Stiles with curiosity, Kaelin nodded in agreement, having seen Stiles be talked to by the police.
"It was about Heather," Stiles said as his face fell, nervously rubbing his hands together as he thought about her and what happened.
"Heather from grad school?" Kaelin asked, surprised.
"Scott and I went to her birthday party last night, while you were watching Grace." Stiles explained, "Halfway through the night, she disappeared."
"What do you think happened?" Scott asked him.
"Maybe the Alphas have something to do with it." Kaelin suggested, "I mean, they show up out of nowhere, kidnap Erica and Boyd, attack Isaac. It's not that far of a stretch to assume they start making trouble elsewhere."
"So they kidnapped her to turn her?" Scott said grimacing at the thought.
"Derek said that it's easier to turn teenagers," Stiles told Scott.
"But what would a pack of Alphas need with a beta?" Scott said confused.
"I don't know, I don't care." Stiles retorted, "I've known her most of my life. I gotta find her."
"Then we need Isaac to remember what happened before he was attacked," Scott said. "Derek told me the Alphas stole his memories, which means he'd probably found their pack." Kaelin shook her head at this, after Isaac was hurt, Derek needed to rest.
"We know Isaac found Erica and Boyd though. That's why he was attacked." Kaelin stated.
"But how do we get him to remember? Peter and Derek couldn't do it, you know any other werewolves with a better trick?" Stiles exclaimed annoyed, wanting to find a solution but Isaac seemed to be in his way.
"Maybe not a werewolf, but someone who knows a lot about them," Scott said as an idea popped into his head before he started walking off. Kaelin and Stiles shared a look and sighed before running off after their best friend.
The three of them entered the animal clinic where Isaac stood in the waiting room, where he was waiting for them with Derek and Deaton. Kaelin was able to see how nervous Isaac felt, but Isaac knew that this was something that he had to do.
"We're ready," Stiles told them, and the group followed him back into the examination room.
"It's not going to be particularly comfortable," Deaton told Isaac who looked down at the icy water nervously. "But if we can slow your heart rate down enough, you'll slip into a trance-like state."
"Like being hypnotized." Isaac guessed as he looked at the icy water again, his eyes not drifting away from his fate.
"Exactly. You'll be half-transformed. It'll let us access your subconscious mind." Deaton explained.
"How slow does his heart rate need to be?" Scott asks Deaton.
"Very slow," Deaton told him.
"Okay, well, how slow is very slow?" Derek pushed.
"Nearly dead," Deaton said, as he shrugged. He was doing what he could do to help.
Isaac dipped his finger into the water cautiously and stepped back at how cold the water was.
