I stretched my arms and yawned. The sun radiated through the window and I squinted cowering away from the light. I smiled at how rejuvenated I felt. It was something I hadn't felt in a long time.
I could hear a low rumbling sound that turned into full-blown snoring. I glanced beside me to see a head full of black hair facing me. It took me a moment to realize that it was Demetrius.
The thin sheets he was under were bunched at his waist. The sun shone on his bare chest leaving shadows on the pillows behind us. I scrutinized the skin on his back noticing how red and sensitive it looked, they are in thin trails down his back disappearing under the sheets.
They looked like..... fingernail marks.
I blushed shortly after and turned away. I couldn't have done that, but then again who else did ?
My shyness slowly faded when I looked at the bubbling black mass overwhelming the skin on his left side. I wondered if the tar in his veins were the result of the burned out appliance in his chest. How did it even get there in the first place ? Why didn't he tell anyone about it ?
Demetrius grumbled and flopped over on his back. The sheets slipped off his waist giving me a glimpse at what was underneath before I grabbed it and pulled it back up.
How can you be shy still.. he's all yours ?....
When I looked back up Demetrius was watching me through hazy eyes, almost like he hadn't comprehended the fact that I was there. Then his eyes traveled down to where my hand was, clutching the blanket.
"You are such a pervert... Alex," he dragged out my name and yawned afterwards.
I was wondering if he was as shocked as me that we were in the same bed. Judging by the way he rested under his sheets it didn't seem like he cared much.
Demetrius pulled the sheets of his bare body and slipped out of bed. I didn't feel ashamed for some reason, looking at his body should have been some type of sin and yet it felt normal.
"Alexander ?"
My head snapped in his direction. Whenever he said my full name he had to have been serious.
He sighed to himself as he stepped into his underwear. "I do not think we should talk to one another anymore."
I grimaced, what did he mean by that ? Not talking to each other wouldn't have been a problem in the past but now it would be extremely difficult, I had gotten attached and I didn't want it to go away. How could he want to stop talking me at a moment.
"W-why ?"
Demetrius was silent for a few moments before speaking up again. "There is no need to get attached to me at a time like this." He picked up the rest of his clothing before throwing them on the sheets.
I sat up and began to dress quickly myself, if he was leaving I was going to go with him. "I'm not going to get attached Demetrius." I picked up an unworn pair of underwear of the bed assuming they were for me, they were a bit big when I put then on, they must have been Demetrius's. I hopped into my jeans and strained to get into my shirt. I couldn't find my shoes anywhere around the bed but I wasn't concerned much for them.
I turned around ready to follow Demetrius out the door when I bumped into him. His eyes were teetering on the edge of gold and blood, his face hardened and he grimaced.
"Alex I am serious. You are getting attached to me and I would like for you to stop immediately," He boomed. "Go back to the others now."
I shook my head. "I'm not going anywhere, I'm staying with you."
