Ratchet and Clank

I woke up sweating profusely, the salty droplets created a wet stain on my pillow. I couldn't remember the dream I was having but it had to have been intense.  It was a good thing that I couldn't remember, it must have been horrific; I never sweated in my sleep. I untangled myself from the sheets and rubbed my forehead, why was it so hard to remember ?

"It's them it's them !" Justin shouted from the hallway.

I raised an eyebrow and climbed out of bed stepping carefully over Benson's sleeping body. I hated sharing a bed with him but it helped that it was one of the larger ones.

I crept out the door immediately spotting Justin hunched over in one of the bar chairs, Demetrius placed a hand on his shoulder whispering something.

"What's going on ?" I asked.

They both turned around staring at me with their glowing eyes. I felt like I was intruding in on an important conversation.

"The Bio Bots," Justin said in a hushed tone. "They are going to kill the humans."

I was confused. How was he able to figure that out ? He told me yesterday that he and Demetrius were unable to find anything pertaining to the Bio Bots.

"How did you find that out ?"

"I saw it."

"Like a vision ?" I asked. What he was saying wasn't logical.

Demetrius ran a hand through his hair obviously frustrated. "What else could he possibly mean ?"

I opened my mouth to speak but quickly closed it. It was best to just listen to them instead of speaking my mind like I always seemed to do.

"It's been happening for a while but I haven't told you Alexander. I've seen a lot," he said.

I grimaced. "Such as ?"

"Your house, I seen it on fire before you left here, your family....," he trailed off.

I unknowingly clenched my fists at my sides. So he knew ? He knew that they were going to die the entire time,that I was going to be alone and he didn't tell me..so I could have saved them.

The door behind me opened and I spun around out of my stupor. Benson stood at the threshold rubbing his eyes sleepily. The burns on his bare chest only reminded me more of Justin's betrayal.

"How could y-"

I was cut off by a loud rumble outside. The ground  shook ,disrupting my balance for just a moment.The sky lit up, the light broke through the cracks of the wood covering the windows. I squinted trying to look past it. I shielded my eyes and turned around; I heard the sound of rattling metal, a distinctive sound.

Justin stood by the door placing his eye through the peephole. His body went rigid for a moment then he stumbled backwards nearly falling over.

"What ?" Demetrius asked.

Justin began walking briskly to the kitchen where another door was located. "They're here."

I didn't have to ask him what he meant, I turned my attention to the door searching for an exit somehow. There was a soft bang on the door then it was a loud rapping sound. They were trying to get in, the Bio Bots knew we were there and they weren't going to stop until they got in.

"Everyone go now !" Demetrius shouted.

Justin began to tear the wood off the door savagely and Benson was busy pulling on his t-shirt. I was frozen. This was happening, Justin was right even though I hated to admit it. I was still so angry at him for what he did to me and I couldn't find the will to follow him.
